The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Drive cross functional development, definition and implementation of the firm's Transfer Agency data strategy, vision, roadmap and standards
- Define and establish a data management function and build associated team
- Plan, implement and promote data management and data governance standards
- Provide thought leadership, insights and guidance on continuous improvement and staying abreast of the latest technologies and how they could be beneficial to Northern trust
- Work with change programmes to ensure the data agenda is managed appropriately
- Integrate data management into the agenda of senior management committees and boards
Required skills:
- Experience in data management, data governance and data analysis
- Experience of managing a team, developing individuals and guiding their careers
- Ability to influence and negotiate with senior leadership and key stakeholders
- Experience in leading projects, preferably being part of large programmes
- Strong knowledge of the data management discipline including data requirements, data mapping, data modelling, data quality and analytics
- Ability to work with functional teams and technology to manage data deliverables and ensure their completeness and quality
- Experience with project management and SDLC methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; work with senior leaders, present status and resolve blocking issues with TA/FA programme leadership
- Past experience working with external integration partners
- Ideal candidate should have Investment or Transfer Agency, Transfer Agency or Custody business background and familiarity with one or more investment/Transfer Agency platforms
- Should be a self-starter and should have the ability to build a strong collaborative team
