Dallas Venture Capital - Investment Analyst (2-4 yrs)

Investment Analyst


- Supporting the team on various sourcing efforts

- Actively participate in investment process and decision making

- Involvement in all aspects of due diligence on new investments (business and market analysis, competitive landscape, pricing, GTM strategy model, financial analysis and deal structuring)

- Reading/reviewing business plans and pitch decks and preliminary screening of investment opportunities

- Preparing analysis, investment memos, presentations etc. to help drive investment decisions

- Supporting existing portfolio companies as needed in various functions such as business development activities, strategic planning, fundraising etc. by coordinating with the team as well as extensive network of advisors and industry experts

- Help team on tracking portfolio company performance, create regular updates for the team and LPs

- Support team in various fund operations including fundraising, investor communications, events, marketing etc.

Qualifications :

- Demonstrable interest in and basic understanding of venture capital investing

- Commitment to long-term career in venture capital and/or technology

- Undergraduate degree in computer science or extensive coursework in computer science or related subjects

- MBA or equivalent Graduate degree in Business with a focus in strategy or finance. Engineers from top colleges with relevant experience will also be considered

- 2+ years of work experience in VC/PE/Angel investing, investment banking / corporate strategy / product management / software development, business development or similar roles

- Highly analytical and comfortable with data and deep market analysis

- Basic understanding of financial modelling and accounting

- Self-starter with strong work ethic and integrity

- Ownership mindset and ability to work independently without close supervision

- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative personality

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Interest and willingness to network and build relationships with founders, relevant industry organisations and other venture capital firms
