Daimler - Senior Manager - Vendor Management Office

About VMO :

- VMO manages enterprise-wide sourcing strategy and vendor governance for wide variety of goods and services.

- Accountabilities include vendor management strategy, policy and VM process development, contracting and contract management, vendor performance management, stakeholder management, leadership of significant sourcing events including contract negotiation, vendor management and accountability of VMO-related operations.

- In this role, the Head of Vendor Governance Management is responsible for ensuring effective oversight of the MBRDIs vendors globally.

- You will create and lead a team of experienced contracts specialists and manage vendor partners and performance, including; contracts management and compliance, relationship management, vendor acquisition and assessment, and vendor performance and risk management. This position is instrumental to the execution of our strategic vendor management and delivery strategy.

Responsibilities :

1. Strategic

- Provide leadership and help set the mission and vision of the VMO in alignment with the strategic and operational objectives of the technology organization and the business

- Present performance of MBRDIs vendors against key KPIs, contractual adherence and Continuous Improvement initiatives to operations leadership

- Assist delivery leadership to take strategic outsourcing decisions

- Highlight key risks to relationship between MBRDI and its vendors to leadership

- Manage, build and effectively leverage vendor relationships. Partner with vendor relationship managers to assist in escalations, facilitate issue resolution, optimize vendor performance and drive cost savings

2. Advisory

- Manage overall relationship with the supplier and provide oversight to the agreement including services, technical and financial oversight.

- Act as a counsel to various functions/BUs regarding terms and conditions of the agreement

- Review service credits, earn backs and incentives awarded to vendors and amendments to KPIs

- Review and mitigate or escalate operational, contractual and financial risk presented to him

- Partner with operational teams to lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance of negotiated agreements to policies and practices

- Establish and optimize best practices, including processes, tools, templates and systems for use in vendor management, from vendor evaluation thru selection, contracting, negotiations, vendor services implementation and ongoing performance monitoring and management

- Act as a subject matter expert, and contribute to the development of vendor management policies, processes, training materials and tools

- Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements relating to outsourcing and vendor risk management

- Act as a supplier performance subject matter expert, a first point of contact for internal and external questions, issues and escalations.

3. BAU Process Management

- Ensure scorecards, performance and financial reviews are completed by the VMO Analysts in a timely manner and per contract requirements

- Be accountable for driving and monitoring compliance to the Companys Sourcing and Vendor Risk Management Policy

- Ensure compliance with expectations from internal stakeholders of other departments like business, procurement, risk, etc.

- Ensure completion and compliance for all activities related to regulatory outsourcing governance.

- Proactively monitor highest risk vendors for emerging risks and provide business partners with visibility and recommended action plans

- Support and provide input for the supplier performance and governance meetings.

- Track and ensure adherence to key supplier obligations by liaising with multiple internal stakeholders and the supplier.

- Interact with Service Operations and Service Delivery teams on continuous improvement agenda by providing fit for purpose analytics and work in associated projects as required.

KPIs :

- Achievement of Aggregate Performance by Suppliers against targets set in the Contracts

- Strong engagement & collaboration with the Leadership Teams in implementing the Sourcing Strategy

- Effective management of performance escalations with the vendors

- Ensure that the Service provided is Value for Money by Benchmarking against industry standards

Key Skills :

- Confident leadership and influencing style, being able to make an immediate impact with suppliers and customers.

- Strength in holding others accountable, particularly peers and senior leadership.

- Strength in building and managing a complex network of internal and external stakeholders

- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills

- Proven ability to manage ambiguity, and a preparedness to take on what is necessary to get things done

Education and Professional Experience :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Economics, or Finance

- 10+years of demonstrated experience in a progressive Vendor Management, sourcing and delivery roles

- Good commercial awareness

- In-depth understanding of contracts, contractual language and associated terms and conditions

- Deep experience in negotiating XaaS, Software, Hardware, Network, Maintenance and Services (both IT and Business Processes) contracts

- Experience in driving organization programs through multi-disciplinary teams
