Job Title

Project Manager / Initiative Lead

Reporting Line

The role is reporting to the Head of the NBA

Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to full time build and lead a team and to successfully develop Radar Platform. The development and implementation part will take place in the NBA, the growth part will take place in the BU's.

Key Accountabilities

- Driving the vision / mission of her/his team

- Contributes as part of the inner circle of the NBA to the development of the NBA-strategy and its execution

Knowledge/Experience/Skills

- Minimum 12+ yrs of automotive experience

- Experience in managing projects in automotive embedded systems

- Track record of successful development and testing of automotive system and software platforms

- Experience in managing and leading teams

- Experience in automotive radar systems preferred

- Hands on experience on automotive technologies like AUTOSAR, ISO26262 and ADAS implementations

Qualifications

- M. Tech / Ph. D. in Electronics Engineering

- Certifications in Functional Safety is preferred

- PMP certification is a plus

- Top 5 percentile regarding general cognitive ability

- Driven by the ambition to create things, to be successful

- Working with his co-located team from the Bangalore Innovation Centre

- Able to travel frequently (customers, congresses, partners etc.) on a global scale

Other

- Basically all the skills/capabilities/characteristics defining the founder of a startup would apply to this role.

- Interesting candidates could be available in the organization as trouble-makers, i.e. people who struggle with independent action versus integration into a line organization.

- Key skills are those of a project manager: leading a timely limited endeavor to achieve defined goals. It is expected that this role is most difficult to be found in Cyient and that maybe 50% of these would need to be recruited from the outside. At the same time these are the equivalent to founders in the startup-world, accordingly they need to act as entrepreneurs, driving their initiative to success and make decisions in (necessarily wide) defined boundaries.

- Possible candidates could be (failed) startup-founders, if they have the required job experience and if the failure of their startup is not rooted in their person.

- Possible candidates might come out of smaller companies where they were running a function like engineering, manufacturing or service

- After validation of the product or service with some initial customer contracts the Initiative lead is responsible to transfer the initiative into an organizational unit of the sponsoring BU. As a default option, she / he will after the transfer continue to lead that business segment with the task to grow it along the agreed roadmap. Alternatively, she / he will remain in the NBA to lead another initiative
