Job Title : Deputy New Business Accelerator

Reporting Line : The role is reporting to the Head of the NBA

Job Purpose :

The purpose of the role is :

a) To lead the India portion of the NBA in absence of the Head of NBA

b) To support the Head of NBA to successfully develop, implement and grow the business (in terms of revenue/profit) around a new product and/or service

c) To develop and implement tools, methodologies and processes as well as workshop facilitation etc.

c) To organize innovation initiatives like hackathons, accelerators, cooperation with external partners etc.

Key Accountabilities :

- Executing the vision / mission of the NBA

- Deputize for the NBA Lead, support in the overall management of the NBA

- Contributes as part of the inner circle of the NBA to the development of the NBA-strategy and its execution

- Special activities like fire-fighting, investigations of opportunities etc.

- Responsibility for methods / tools / processes, their development and training.

- Supporting the proposal process in the BU's

- Follow-up of initiatives roadmaps after transfer to the BU's

- Deputize for the Head of NBA in satellite locations (short-term : Bangalore)

Knowledge/Experience/Skills :

- Strong personality with a vision, self-propelled

- More generalist than specialist

- Has worked in other countries (USA, Europe etc.)

- Strong abilities in strategy development and execution

- Good skills in commercial and contract management

- Good understanding of market intelligence to compile and analyze information about markets and competitors in cooperation with the market intelligence team

- Competent in interaction with customers, friendly but strong in pursuing the NBA interests

- Good abilities to think in use-cases and in extracting what the customer might really wants

- Good conflict-management skills, not shy to bring conflicts into the open and resolve them

- Experience in a startup environment or with new product development and implementation

- Experience along the whole value chain: ideation, design & development, manufacturing, test & certification, after service & maintenance

- Capable workshop moderators (preparation, organization, execution, follow-up)

Qualifications :

There are no single mandatory qualifications, however useful qualifications might be :

- Engineering Professional

- PMP (Project Management Professional)

- Six Sigma (with a problem solving, design-of-experiments focus, not just process improvement)

- Design Thinking

- Scrum/agile development

The university background is preferably Engineering / Business / Manufacturing oriented, other backgrounds are possible if they add to the diversity of the team and in combination with useful work experience.

Personality/Motivation :

- Top 10 percentile regarding general cognitive ability

- Driven by the ambition to contribute to the success of initiatives

- Thinks before speaking / good listener

- Integrity

- Mature authority

Circumstances

- Working from the respective NBA location (initially Hyderabad/Bangalore)

- Able to travel (customers, congresses, partners etc.) on a global scale

- Humor - must be able to laugh about her-/himself

- Optimistic can-do mindset

- Good problem solver, including a deep understanding of problems in the first place and then formulating and implementing strategies that solve the root causes successfully

- Fast learner - able to identify and acquire necessary new knowledge fast on her/his own initiative

- A keen sense for opportunities and how to explore them

- Speaking up to authority, i.e. openly disagrees if necessary and expressing his position in an appropriate way. Encourages the same behavior in his team
