CTO/Lead Developer - Early Stage Digital Health Startup (Equity based)


About us


We are an early stage digital health startup (currently operating in stealth mode), focusing on improving access to healthcare. We are looking for someone who is passionate about healthcare, creating awesome customer experiences, and scaling businesses.


Since we are an early stage startup we need the person to have recent development experience with a startup, and be ready to get back into it. And be willing to work on equity basis to build something thats worth more in the long term than their short term salary.


We dont want professionals with 20+ years experience in IT departments of large companies who havent coded anything in over a decade and expect a fat salary just because the title is CTO.


Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced tech professional who is not only an awesome developer, but is customer obsessed, is familiar with and excited about learning and implementing new technologies, and leads by example.

Depending on experience and qualification, the person would be expected to:

- Take complete ownership and responsibility of technology, engineering, and product functions to create exceptional customer experience and deliver the brand promise

- Define the product and technology vision, roadmap, and strategy for the company to continually improve customer experience and offerings

- Lead the tech function to achieve the company vision, goals, user growth, engagement, revenue, cost, and other financial targets

- Build and lead a lean, agile and kick-ass technology team that is equally customer obsessed, and lives and breathes tech and customer experience

- Build a highly secure and scalable solution that supports expansion in services and geographies to achieve growth in users, engagement, and revenue

- Continuously innovate the product and adopt newer systems, frameworks, methods, and platforms that yield competitive advantage

- Build world-class data analytics capabilities and leverage data to build strong moats

- Ensure data privacy, protection, and security systems, compliant with local and global healthcare and data privacy standards

- Set-up, monitor and upgrade processes, systems, and controls to insure world-class performance on speed, time to market, scalability, reliability, interoperability, privacy, security, and cost efficiency metrics

- Manage technology partners and vendors

- Maintain technology costs within the set budgets

- Be part of the company leadership team and participate in planning and review processes

Requirements

- Advanced Degree in Computer Science from a premier university

- At least 5 years hands-on development experience and upto 5 years of team management/leadership experience

- Experience in building customer-centric, agile, scalable, data-driven platforms from scratch

- Prior experience in an e-comm or digital health startup will be an added advantage

- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of various tech stacks, methodologies, frameworks, components and cloud platforms

- Well versed with React Js, React Native, Angular Js, Node Js, Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase, Mongo DB, Python, Django, AI/ML, DevOps, AWS, OOPs concepts

- Deep understanding of Google, social network platforms, and content management

- Experience in managing enterprise-grade systems and architecture

- Self-driven leader who takes ownership and leads by example

- Self-starter with the ability to understand the customer and think strategically about business priorities

- Excellent collaboration, persuasion, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a full-time, equity-based, leadership role.
