CTO/CEO Trading Software

Provide Application Development capabilities to technology enhancement activities that are deemed important to the success of achieving their business goals. Position faces both internal business clients and technology professionals assisting with both defining and implementing tools and processes to achieve viable, appropriate, and sometimes market-leading solutions to business problems.

Role and Responsibilities -

- Heading the development and deployment to mission-critical Trading applications

- Gather Business Requirements for Enhancements

- Enhance and maintain the existing codebase

- Develop release scripts for code promotion to production environments

- Assist with developing improvements to team processes and procedures

- Complete all tasks related to technical analysis, building and unit testing, quality assurance, system test, and implementation in accordance with the IT development life cycle

- Analyze requirements, design, build and test system components or amendments

- Always conform to documentation, coding and quality standards as defined

- Understand client business and make recommendations and technology suggestions to solve problems and improve efficiency

- Understand the architecture of applications in order to effectively troubleshoot problems and develop more efficient production processes

- Be prepared to carry out business analysis tasks to ensure that the development/change meets user requirements and expectations

- Prepare for and support user acceptance testing

- Communicate with internal and external customers, supervisors and management using clear, user-friendly terminology (emails, phone, and meetings)

- Assist project and line managers in producing estimates for the development phase of projects and enhancements

- Handle general updates and configuration changes/requests

- Facilitate rollout of new applications and modules

- Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions

Work Experience / Knowledge:

- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in software development/Production Support

- Minimum of 7 years proven experience carrying out business process reviews and/or production of business requirements in a leadership role

- Experience analyzing a business or technical problems and proposing and implementing solutions

- Good understanding of and experience with people management, regulations, systems, and procedures

- Technology literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products

- Knowledge of change management, process documentation, and testing tools

- Broad knowledge of systems and business processes in use for the relevant business areas

- Understanding of relational database design and development life cycle principles

- Desire to stay abreast of new development tools and methods

- Broad knowledge of the systems and business processes in use for the Front-, Mid-, and Back-office functions within Investments

- Understanding of Trade life cycle

- Understanding of Investment processes

- Understanding of Equity, Fixed Income and basic Derivative instruments used with the financial services

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required

- Excellent verbal skills (must be capable of communicating clearly and effectively to senior business users, IT management and internal team members)

- Excellent written skills (including the ability to produce process flowcharting, requirements, project plans, and formal business solution documents)

- Excellent troubleshooting, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

- Flexible and willing to learn new technologies and adapt to methodologies.

- Able to influence and build relationships at all levels of staff

- Advanced proficiency in Application Architecture, Analysis and Design

- Structured, disciplined approach to work, with attention to detail

- Ability to analyze requirements and problems and to propose innovative but workable solutions

- Enjoy challenging and thought-provoking work and have a strong desire to learn and progress

- In-depth knowledge of SQL databases (or Oracle)

- Participate in technical code reviews as part of the development process

- Provide recommendations on the technologies that need to be developed within the team

- Mentor junior analysts on the tasks assigned to them

- Advanced proficiency in application architecture and design

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

- A Bachelors/Masters Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred from a tier 1 institute

- Formal business analysis training and/or qualification preferred

- License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

- Formal project management training and/or qualification preferred. (PMP or equivalent)
