Role Overview:

The VP PMO Lead will lead, manage & sustain a PMO function establishing processes, systems and organization that will support Programme Planning and Delivery across all lifecycle stages of the change delivery as well as delivery of all Change Initiatives within Risk Transformation. In his role he/she may be supported by a team of PMO Analysts providing support, administration & analyst functions to enable efficient delivery execution within Risk Transformation.

He/she will be:

- Supporting the Programme Delivery Lead as well as the PMO Lead for the Programme / Function

- Designing Process, Tools and Templates to enable standardized and consistent support Programme and Projects within Risk Transformation

- Coordinating with wider Group Transformation teams to establish best practice for portfolio, programme, & project governance and delivery support.

- Responsible for establishing, embedding, monitoring and improving processes to ensure value for delivery leads and in-time information for decision making.

Job Responsibilities:

Impact on the Business/Function

- Demonstrates good knowledge of HSBC Business Transformation Framework, supporting the creation of detailed plans including key activities, milestones & tollgates

- Designs, develops or tailors standardised frameworks, processes & tools, working across the global community sharing best practice

- Acts as a consultant to Programme and Project Managers on PM Best Practices, Tools and Methodologies

- Aligns support with a customer centric mindset to ensure overall top down supply budget for WMRT align to bottom up demand.

- Ask questions when they do not understand, takes ownership of problems & escalates when needed (remaining calm, knowing when to escalate & escalate with possible solutions)

- Proactively and effectively manages PMO team's time and workload, advocating the importance of project pace to achieve successful delivery

- Keeps focus on the medium and long term goals and the Group's values particularly when under short term pressure

Customers / Stakeholders [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS]

- Closely coordinate with Head of Transformation to provide adequate and timely information enabling decision making.

- To establish and build strong relationships within the WMR Transformation Portfolio Lead(s), Delivery Leads and wider Programme and Project Management teams

- To work with other IT teams (global and regional), regional transformation team ensuring collation and dissemination of information is effective and efficient through usage of standardized processes and tools.

- Be recognized by customers/stakeholders as responsible for the frontline deployment of Governance and Control solutions.

- Responsible to ensure PMO services are standardized across portfolio and aligned to the support the delivery leads and Senior Management to take informed decisions to aid delivery in line to group/ functional strategy and targets.

- Responsible to ensure the team is allocated efficiently and works effectively on prioritized objectives agreed with the management.

- Is able to effectively align the team and services based on shifting priorities.

- Continuously evaluates demand and ensures coverage by team and self, based on agreed principles of scope, prioritization, funding and availability.

Knowledge

- Understanding of the project lifecycle and - change- methodologies

- Understanding of Global Transformation Business Transformation Frameworks, methodologies and best practice techniques

- Understanding of the purpose, value, culture and fundamentals of Global Transformation

- Good understanding of HSBC Group strategy, objectives, structure, values, behaviors and processes

- Understanding of how change drives benefits for HSBC, its customers and other stakeholders

Experience

- Successful experience in leading Programme assurance and support for large, complex multi-year programmes

- Prior experience in working on complex regulatory change programmes

- Experience in working with / leading an offshore team with principal stakeholders working onshore across diverse geograhies.

- Proven ability in working across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural diverse work environments

- Extensive experience in global business transformation roles in a matrix environment

- Programme Management skills and experience; including supporting multi-year business change projects, programmes & portfolios

- Experience of working in a banking environment and change projects; preferably in the Risk domain

- Evidence of strong communication and influencing skills

- Good verbal and written communication skills and some experience in face to face presentation
