Equity Researcher - Healthcare/Pharma/Biotech Sector

Job Summary : Support US Biotech sector equity research analyst of a large US based sell side research firm.

Functions/Responsibilities:

- Analyze individual Pharma/Biotechnology companies to build and update fully integrated financial and valuation models

- Estimate and model the market potential for various drugs being developed by pharma/biotech companies: this includes detailed projection of drug revenue and present value

- Understand and analyze clinical trial data

- Conduct comparative analysis of pipeline drugs versus peers, based on clinical trial results

- Evaluate therapeutic options in a disease area based on efficacy and side effects, and draw conclusions on potential drug approval and market share

- Ability to handle financial models end-to-end: creating, forecasting and maintaining

- Ability to understand valuation concepts, esp. from a biotech context

- Contribute to sections of initiation notes and comment on clinical data releases

- Search and aggregation on sector and companies

- Provide data and analysis based on various client requests

- Build and update sector databases in Excel

Competencies:

- Understanding of drug chemistry, particularly for biologic molecules

- Understanding of clinical trial data and ability to estimate market potential of drugs

- Understanding of the drug development and approval process in major global markets

- Good understanding of financial and valuation concepts

- Ability to draft reports and comment on the market impact of drug-related data releases

- Ability to think and work independently

- Excellent client management and communication

- Good knowledge of MS Office

Education:

- MBA Finance /CFA

- B.Pharm, M.Pharm, MBBS, BDS, BSc./MS/PhD/B Tech in Biotech or other relevant biological sciences

- Experience in drug market size modelling

Minimum & Preferred Experience / Skills

- 1-3 years of equity research experience in the pharma/biotech sector
