Credit Suisse - Operational Risk Manager (9-17 yrs)

We Offer-

At Credit Suisse the Credit Risk Office is supported by the operational function known as Risk Finance Data Reporting and Analytics (RFDAR). This department operates within functional guidelines of Data, Production, Reporting, Scenarios and Change.

Reporting into the Production function of RFDAR, are 5 sub-functions that focus on;

1. Data Management,

2. Risk and Finance Calculations and Models,

3. Data Assurance through Reconciliations and month end Controls

4. Bank -wide Operational Risk Reporting.

5. Production Control Oversight.

The Production Control Oversight sub-function is seeking to recruit a Senior VP to Director level candidate for the role of Operational Risk Manager in Pune to partner the other 4 sub-function of production in strengthening the control environment by raising control awareness, identifying and mitigating operational risk across people, process and technology.

At the highest level the key deliverable can be summarized as;

- Develop a Strong Culture of Control Awareness

- Identify the Operational Risk associated with Production

- Mitigate Operational Risk with Enhanced Controls

The functional responsibilities of the position include; Conduct quality assurance on key processes and activities to identify control enhancement opportunities and improve the overall Control culture and Risk Awareness, monitoring existing control weaknesses and develop control improvement plans, ensure appropriate remediation is taken on the foundation risk measures such as SOX, Audits, Incidents and KRI's, conduct ad hoc reviews to address incidents that may impact regulatory commitment or represent significant control failures, assist with arranging the relevant governance forums as well as material and minutes from these meetings. Follow up of actions with members of the committee who are at director or MD levels will also be a requirement.

Key activities of the function include;

- Conduct Quality Assurance reviews and Ad Hoc reviews of Incidents

- Maintain and further develop the functions risk and control register.

- Participation in projects to ensure controlled deliver with reduced risk appetite and evaluating control strength after delivery.

- Assess offshoring activities are in line with regulatory and control standards

- Facilitate the functions RCSA annual assessment activities and provide an independent assessment

- Provide a forum for active discussion and constructive challenge of the Key Risk Indicators

In addition to the above functional responsibilities, the Manager will be expected to provide direction and oversight of all activities that are performed by the Control Oversight team in their location, develop local people strategies and improve organizational collaboration. This role will also be responsible to help further develop elements of the Production Control Framework. The successful candidate will be expected to support the head of the Production Control Oversight sub-function who is based in Singapore.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate in Banking & Finance or related discipline preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Experience gained in Audit, Market or Credit Risk line, Product Control, Operations or Finance related control function preferred but not essential.

Must be a strong communicator across all corporate titles. Experience managing teams and providing coaching and direction to individuals. Presentation skills a must coupled with stakeholder focus is essential.

BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

- Strong technical knowledge and hands on experience in Operational Risk

- Strong people leadership experience

- Project management abilities

- Strong presentation skills

- Stakeholder management focused individual. Experience gained in Audit, Market or Credit Risk line, Product Control, Operations or Finance related control function preferred but not essential.
