DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW : The Department : At Finance Change, we work across the entire CFO division to ensure that we execute the strategic design and implementation of any major changes to our processes and systems. In partnership with our key stakeholders, we work to create cutting-edge business solutions using our deep functional expertise. We aim to deliver strategic initiatives using leading project management and business analysis as we pursue our goal of protecting and enhancing shareholder value through optimizing the use of our financial resources. The Project : The Financial Results Store (- FRS- ) is a multi-year reporting initiative that commenced in January 2017. The project is part of the Core Finance Systems (- CFS- ) program which has been setup to address pain points that have been identified in the Group Finance process flow from the General Ledger through to the Core Consolidation module. The program encompasses various initiatives which aim, for example, to enhance the GL with daily processing and rationalise the Chart of Account (- GL Strategic Solution- ), integrate a line of Business View (- Line of Business View- ) for integrated MI reporting, enable sourcing of small entities into the GL (- GGL - Small Entities On-boarding- ), support the de-commissioning of outdated Group reporting system (- ADAC Decommissioning- ) and establish the Financial Results Store (nonexhaustive list). The - FRS- project is intended to build a reporting data store that is able to provide, with an adequate level of performance and efficiency, integrated reporting and analytical capabilities to support Group Reporting (e.g. Legal and Regulatory reporting) and Disclosures. The Finance Results Store, likely to use - big data- technology, will have to answer the increasing demand for transparency and accountability by Regulators and Shareholders, reduce the risk of data inconsistencies caused by disparate data repositories and increase the agility to respond to new/future regulations/requirements. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE : Experience Range : 7 to 11 years - To work as a Business Analyst within the project reporting into the Workstream Lead - Extensive interactions with Business and IT would be required to ensure business requirements are understood and design approaches are agreed with consensus. - Extensive analytical work will also be required to support the business requirements and provide a pragmatic and scalable resolution to the problem / opportunity. - Responsible for the gathering of business requirements, documentation of the business requirements including putting forward recommendations for solutions, where required. - Preparation of functional specifications and use cases for the delivery of the business requirements. - Preparation of test plans, test cases, co-ordinating with users and IT during the testing phase - Execution of specific test cases - Liaison with business users for executing the - User Acceptance Test- and securing sign-off - Preparation of the documentation and steps for deployment, including user training where required. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (e.g. shifts, travel overseas, hours) : There will be periods where extended working hours and/or weekend work will be required to meet deadlines. PERSON SPECIFICATION : EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Essential : Basic Degree in Business / Finance / Accounting / IT WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND : Essential : - Strong understanding of Business Architecture in Finance Domain - Strong business analytical skills and logical reasoning; ability to challenge the business on status quo - Experience in accounting, or has a good understanding of financial/regulatory requirements and has worked extensively with users in these areas - Full cycle project implementation experience - Experience of working with onshore/offshore model - Experience of working closely with IT and Support Teams Desirable : Prior experience working with some / all of the below will be of additional advantage : - Reporting tools (e.g. Axiom) - Analytical Tools (e.g. OBIEE, Tableau) - Big Data projects / technologies - Financial Consolidation tools (e.g. Hyperion Financial Management) ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) related projects TECHINICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE : Essential : - Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle - Good knowledge of MS Office suite Desirable : - Familiarity with Waterfall / AGILE / Scrum project methodology - Advanced Excel user - Confluence Tools OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Essential : - Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken - Strong organizational skills - Active listening skills - Ability to articulate messages to a variety of audiences - Ability to maintain strong relationships - Ability to work well under pressure - Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities in ambiguous situations - Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others - Is proactive, and demonstrates initiative to get things done
