Credit Saison - AVP/Manager - Risk & Analytics (7-15 yrs)

Purpose of the job :

- Credit Saison India is looking for an IFRS 9 Risk AVP/ Manager to join their Risk and analytics team to work closely with the NBFC's senior management and business teams to manage and implement its monthly INDAS Expected Credit Loss calculation, modelling and reporting processes.

- The NBFC had adopted IFRS 9 for the first time in 2019/20 and these significant new standards and requirements would not only need to be maintained but enhanced going forward.

- This will provide Credit Saison India senior management with a deeper level of understanding of the credit risk movements.

Main duties :

- Managing and implementing the ongoing monthly production of IFRS 9 expected credit losses using Credit Saison India's models, whilst providing insight and analytical commentary to allow Credit Saison India senior management to make complex considerations and a high level of management judgement on the expected credit loss calculations.

- Developing additional IFRS 9 ECL models and/or PD/LGD scorecards should the NBFC widen its product offering.

- Enhancing IndAS/IFRS 9 model monitoring and management information packs to allow Credit Saison India's senior management to understand credit risk of new products.

- Enhancing the development of second generation IndAS/IFRS 9 models including re-calibration of PD, LGD, macroeconomic scenarios and interest rates

- Provide the lead in setting out and cascading IFRS 9 standards and requirements to the NBFC's due diligence teams and processes to ensure that new delivery partners will provide the necessary data and model output for IFRS 9.

- Collaborate with Business/Risk teams and Guide them on IndAS/ECL implications on profitability/resilience of new products/investments.

- Work with Credit Saison India Finance team to ensure the relevant journal balance movements reconciliations, MIs reports and the NBFC's annual report and accounts entries are produced in line with IndAS/ IFRS9 and NBFC's financial reporting timelines.

- Providing and presenting advanced analytical insights to the Risk, business teams and Senior Stakeholders, in addition to explaining new technical concepts when necessary and ensuring that IFRS 9 standards and requirements are cascaded and met across the organisation.

Knowledge and experience :

- Significant prior experience in an IFRS 9/IndAS 39/Credit Risk Modelling team.

- 7+ years of total experience with Indian NBFC experience preferred.

- Understanding of risk metrics and accounting concepts (PD, LGD, EAD, arrears and roll rates, interest rates, fair value, write-offs)

- IFRS 9 and credit rating scorecard model building experience and documentation skills

- Wide range of products experience - Retail loans, Wholesale loans, Secured and structured finance products etc.

- Risk and financial reporting, and MIS production experience

- Prior experience in undertaking linear regression analysis and historical vintage analysis.

- Credit risk management, credit risk modelling or business expertise within a Retail/Commercial or Corporate bank, with the ability to apply technical IFRS 9 guidelines to practical business scenarios Internal and external stakeholders

- Internal stakeholders are the CRO, CFO, MD of business teams, Risk Committee, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors. This role will be expected to work very closely with the Finance team.

- External stakeholders - Auditors, Regulators

- Qualifications Required for the role

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative/risk/finance discipline

- Highly proficient user of Microsoft Excel including data analysis tools

Additional / desirable :

- Master's degree in a relevant quantitative/risk/finance discipline

- FRM, CFA or other professional financial qualification
