Credit Officer - FinTech Startup (6-15 yrs)

About the venture:

A FinTech start up aiming to provide instant, short term working capital loans using artificial intelligence and machine learning to cater to the transport and logistics industry. The aim is to leverage technology, expertise and experience in the transport industry and combine it with financial knowledge to build a lending platform that formalises working capital loans for this industry.

Responsibilities:

- Assess credit worthiness of the potential client by scrutinising the financials, credit history on the basis of documents submitted, market information, reference checks; amongst the rest

- Create and maintain systems own credit score of a potential customer by analysing all of the above

- Convert existing market knowledge, that will be obtained through reference checks or otherwise, into a data pool to increase system efficiency

- Monitor loans on a continuous basis to ensure minimal delinquencies and NPA

- Conduct the verification process in a systematic manner and ensure quick turnaround of customer loan applications

- Implement risk management strategies and manage the system to ensure optimal use of funds in order to increase outcome

- Ensure adherence to internal credit policy and RBI guidelines applicable

- Tracking delinquent customers to ensure these remain in the lower brackets of loan sanctions and apply learnings from these cases for future clients along with implementing a system where stronger applicants receive faster and easier loans

- Suggest credit policies, credit lines and procedures in order to update business with ongoing trends

- Suggest ways of upgradation to leverage technology for faster credit valuation

- Monitor closely repayment history and taking necessary corrective actions

Requirements:

- 3+ years experience in credit line for a Bank/NBFC based in India

- Prior experience in unsecured loans (preferably working capital loans)

- Experience in risk management and/or collections along with managing scorecards

- Excellent financial analytical skills with sound judgement and strong decision making abilities

- Comfort in working closely with a tech team, should be able to transfer ideas and strategies clearly to the concerned tech team
