Costing Manager - Healthcare

Costing Manager at Ahmedabad (Gujarat)

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Cost Leadership:

- Design and implement comprehensive costing frameworks that drive standardization across our global manufacturing footprint

- Serve as the principal costing subject matter expert for all manufacturing operations, establishing best practices and guidance

- Lead complex costing transformation initiatives that align with our strategic manufacturing roadmap along with full service, toll manufacturing

- Develop SKU level costing and forward-looking cost models that inform strategic decisions on product rationalization, portfolio optimization, and market entry strategies.

- Evaluate bill of material structures across multiple product categories and geographical locations

- Partner with executive leadership to identify and quantify long-term cost reduction opportunities

Technical Costing Excellence:

- Architect sophisticated product costing methodologies tailored to the unique requirements of diverse CPG categories (oral care, dental accessories, feminine care).

- Establish robust global standards for absorption costing, activity-based costing, and marginal costing aligned with international accounting standards

- Design and implement transfer pricing models for intercompany transactions across our global manufacturing network.

- Lead the development of should-cost models to drive procurement and manufacturing efficiencies

- Implement advanced cost allocation methodologies that accurately reflect manufacturing complexity and resource consumption patterns

Manufacturing Financial Performance:

- Direct global standard cost modelling and setting processes, ensuring consistent methodology application across all manufacturing sites

- Lead comprehensive cost variance analysis programs that identify root causes of unfavourable trends

- Develop manufacturing cost KPIs and performance dashboards that enable real-time decision-making

- Spearhead cost-saving initiatives by analysing manufacturing efficiency, material yield, labour productivity, and overhead utilization

- Conduct detailed plant-level cost benchmarking to identify best practices and improvement opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Supply Chain to optimize network design and distribution strategies from a total cost perspective

- Collaborate with R&D on design-to-cost initiatives for new product development

- Work closely with Procurement on material cost management strategies and supplier cost models

- Engage with Manufacturing Excellence teams to quantify financial impacts of lean and operational excellence initiatives

- Support Commercial teams with cost insights that inform pricing strategies and trade spending optimization

Governance and Reporting

- Establish global costing policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity and compliance

- Lead the costing aspects of daily, weekly and month-end and year-end financial closing processes

- Develop executive-level reporting on manufacturing cost trends, forecasts, and risk assessments

- Present comprehensive cost analysis to the Managing Director, highlighting key insights and recommendations

- Lead capital expenditure financial modelling and post-implementation reviews

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA, CMA, or CGMA strongly preferred

- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing costing within the CPG industry

- Demonstrated expertise in implementing end-to-end costing systems across multiple manufacturing sites

- Significant experience leading costing transformation initiatives in global, multi-site operations

- Proven track record of driving material cost savings through advanced costing methodologies

- Experience working in at least two different geographic regions to ensure global perspective

Technical Knowledge:

- Expert understanding of standard costing, activity-based costing, and target costing methodologies specific to CPG manufacturing

- Deep knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) related to inventory valuation and cost accounting

- Advanced expertise in product cost modelling, including direct/indirect cost allocation methods

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and cost drivers specific to oral care, lens wipe, dental floss, dental floss picks, and feminine care products but not limited to consumer care and healthcare products.

- Comprehensive knowledge of cost implications in make-vs-buy decisions, automation investments, and outsourcing strategies

Technical Skills:

- Expert-level proficiency in advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis

- Experience implementing and optimizing costing modules within major ERP systems like SAP CO-PC -S4HANA

- Mastery of business intelligence tools for cost data visualization and predictive analytics

- Proficiency with specialized costing software and manufacturing execution systems

- Ability to leverage data analytics to uncover cost optimization opportunities
