Cost & Progress Manager - Renowned Telecom MNC

- Performs proactive progress and cost control in one or more projects (WBS / Care contract) for GS

- Drives and ensures cost consciousness and awareness in execution team.

Supports COM/SBM in:

- End-to-end cost management where COM / SBM is responsible for the projects financial performance.

- Estimating, monitoring, reporting, analysing and managing the project execution progress against time, milestones, cost related performance indicators and invoicing schedule agreed in the customer contract.

- Enables end-to-end transparent cost visibility for project with efficient setup and reporting including As Sold Cost Estimate (ASCE), Cost Baseline (CBL), Estimate at Completion costs (EAC), committed costs and actual costs.

- Manages the Cost Baseline (CBL) and Estimate at Completion costs (EAC) for project for GS.

- Performs end-to-end cost management for GS and provides Cost & Progress reporting and analysis to key stakeholders for corrective and preventive actions.

- Contributes to accurate booking and planning of projects cost of sales and revenues by aligning with logistics and Project F&C.

Key activities :

- Contribution to Services tendering during Pre-Sales

- Review solution summary,Offer summary and Contract summary with focus on cost base, assumptions and risks. Provides feedback to tender team based on analysis.

- Ensures that Cost & Progress related deliverables in PTA are handed over by tender team as per guidelines

- End-to-end Project Cost & Progress Management set-up

- Creates project cost management structure proposal, for F&C of the CT approval, in line with project cost management guidelines including WBS / care contract structure and service order setup to manage project costs on required functional and/or geographical dimensions and required cost management components for transparency and control.

- Creates approved project cost management structure in SAP P20.

- Creates cost planning and cost management structure in cost management tool that is fully aligned with SAP P20 for transparent cost management.

- Ensures proper project resource handling setup by providing necessary information to myERM Key User

- Instructs the execution team and Logistics on how to book costs correctly against the created structure

- Supports COM / SBM in finalizing cost baseline and risk contingency from as sold cost estimate and implement them into the tools and systems

- Localizes and deploys of cost management processes and tools (SAP P20, Cost management tool) for the project.

- Deploys extra works, non-conformance cost (NCC) and sellable additional works processes and system setup

- Implements subcontractor and contractor purchase ordering and invoicing processes.

- Supports overall deployment and maintenance of progress tracking processes and tools.

Project Cost & Progress Planning :

- Plans project costs (CBL, EAC) on periodic level for the entire duration of the project in the systems in line with project cost management guidelines, excluding cost centre costs (indirect costs).

- Supports SBM in preparation of the delivery schedule

- Monitoring and Controlling project Cost & Progress

Cost :

- Drives for cost consciousness, cost transparency & awareness and increased execution productivity.

- Manages project cost planning data (CBL, EAC) in the systems.

- Updates project cost baselines according to approved changes in customer contract and/or project scope.

- Updates estimate at completion costs regularly to provide latest visibility on total project costs.

- Manages subcontractor and contractor purchase ordering and invoicing processes. Ensures timely issuing of subcontractor and contractor purchase orders.

- Manages costs related to extra works, non-conformance costs (NCC) and sellable additional works, monitors risk contingency usage.

- Controls, reviews and manages open supplier purchase orders.

Progress :

- Manages progress tracking processes and tools (IPM).

- Analyse influence of variances in project roll-out schedules and lead times.

- Monitors and controls project progress periodically.

- Reviews cost impact of project schedule, risks and issues.

- Enabling end-to-end project cost visibility

- Prepares periodic cost & progress report for project towards COM / SBM including CBL, EAC & ETC analysis and actual costs, including complete view of the project.

- Performs deviation analysis CBL vs. EAC vs. actual costs and identify the reasons for deviations.

- Supports and monitors cost related aspects of cost reduction / transformation programs for project.

- Supports in reporting of cost related performance indicators.

- Risk Management support

- Reviews risks and issues and their impact on project costs.

- Maintains risk contingency cost information in cost management tool.

Project Closure :

- Supports project closing in the systems to ensure financial closure of WBS / Care contract.

- Manages Service Order closing in SAP P20 for WBS / Care contract.

- Manages WBS element closing in SAP P20 together with Project F&C.

- Supports region PMO in best practice sharing between projects.

- Performs post cost calculation for project and provide information back to tendering about actual performance against tendered case and CBL.
