Corporate Finance Manager - GST & Excise - OEM Firm - CA/LLB (12-18 yrs)

One of the leading OEM company of India is looking out for Corporate Finance Manager

Objective :

- To ensure compliance to GST Laws and Regulations and erstwhile indirect tax related laws such as Central Excise and Service Tax.

- To monitor, review payment of GST, filing of periodical returns in respect of the States allocated.

- To ensure proper and full availment of input tax credit and other benefits available under GST Regulations.

- To ensure periodical reconciliation of the transactions declaraed in the statutory returns with books of accounts.

- To manage audit/assessments under GST and ensure speedy and efficient compliance to the same.

- To guide and provide timely clarifications to the queries raised by various locations.

- To deciminate knowledge and release of SOPs and Circulars on various issues from time to time to various locations.

- To handle GST related litigations.

- To monitor, take necessary steps in respect of legacy issues under Central Excise & Service Tax Laws.

- To provide guidance and advise Material Imports department on issues relating to Customs Laws.

(GST related States : Telangana, Kerala, Goa, Karnataka, MP, Maharashtra, AP, HP, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh & J & K, Haryana)

Goals :

Timely payment of taxes, filing of returns, availment of various benefits available under GST & other indirect tax statutes to the fullest extent. Also effectively addressing the disputes/litigations with the statutory authorities and appellate forums.

Advisory :

- Providing clarifications/guidance to various locations on day to day tax matters.

- Finalisation and circulation of SOPs for various processes involving taxation

- Conducting and supervising lectures for various personnel of marketing division.

- Visiting plants/sales offices for verification of records and conducting interactive meetings.

- Dissemination of information to various locations relating to changes in the Statutory provisions/ procedures affecting MRF activities.

Payment of Tax, filing of returns, investigation (compliance related)

- Guiding and supervising the team for preparation of tax computation for all the States and filing periodical returns

- Ensure timely payment of taxes and filing of returns.

- Regular interaction with ITES & Plants for obtaining required data.

- Verification of periodical compliance reports received from plants and taking necessary action.

- Special assignments involving investigation by statutory authorities on various positions taken by the Company in the indirect tax matters.

Audit by Statutory Authorities :

- Coordination with Statutory Authorities and various locations of MRF for conduct of periodical audits.

- Interaction with the Audit Team during the audit period.

- Replying to audit queries raised by the Statutory Authorities and participating in consultation meetings with senior officials in the Government.

Litigation Management :

- Preparation/ finalisation of replies to notices, filing of appeals.

- Appointment of Advocates/Consultants to handle litigation wherever required

- Briefing the Advocates/consultants in connection with litigation matters for contesting in Tribunals/ High Courts and Supreme Court to arrive at strategic steps to be taken.

- Attending personal hearing before the Government/Judicial Authorities.

Customs :

- Providing information to Materials department relating to changes in Customs law and procedures.

- Coordinating, briefing the advocates/consultants on various litigations

- Need based advice/guidance given to materials division on customs matters.

Relationship management :

- Regular interaction with Government Officials to maintain smooth relationship.

- Member of the Government Affairs & Legislative Committee of ATMA. Participating in all the meetings.

- Meeting Senior Government officials at the level of CBEC as part of ATMA representing various issues relating to tyre sector.

Skills :

- B. Com, LLB qualification

- Soft skills to handle day to day work relating to taxation

- Good interpretational skills

- Man power management

- Representing the Company in ATMA GAL Committee

Supervised by VPF :

Required Qualification/ Work experience :


- Chartered/Cost Accountant/Law Graduate from premier Institution with rich experience heading the tax department.

Travel (frequent/infrequent; intra-city/intercity) : Frequent intra-city

Infrequent : inter city
