Control Analyst - Revenue Accounting (4-9 yrs)

General Position Definition

The Control Analyst is required to validate the entire revenue recording for the US Deepwater that is being managed and is also accountable for the accuracy of the revenue recording.

Position description - Purpose

1. Perform High-Level validation of Revenue, Royalty, and other Gas/oil related recordings.

2. Involved in activities related to the set-up of new fields/wells and review for compliance in line with the applicable contracts.

3. Conducts audits of Revenue records to ensure proper documentation is maintained to evidence those controls are operating effectively as required for SoX Compliance.

4. Acting as Liaison / Interface between various groups (Gas / Oil / Management / Land & Contract, Volumes, Regulatory Affairs, FiTB) for new/ongoing issues

5. Ensure integrity of account data through Status of Accounts and Reporting Compliance.

Position description - Roles & Responsibilities

This role is designed to help ensure revenue is accurately recorded and that accounting controls, outlined in the Control Framework, are being executed by all Revenue accountants; includes training and coaching Revenue accountants on accounting and production concepts, as well as field-specific processes and procedures

1. The Control Analyst must be familiar with all aspects of revenue accounting and have an understanding of the various issues impacting the industry

2. The Control analyst must be able to make recommendations for process improvements as well as control enhancements.

3. The analyst must also be able to troubleshoot most problems or issues that arise, with only limited assistance from the Process Owner, Team Lead or Systems support personnel.

4. This position is responsible for working with key stakeholders in other departments, including, but not limited to, Joint Venture, Property, Marketing & Transportation, Division Order, Operations, and related Financial Representatives-

Position description - Accountabilities

1. Reporting on Flux Analysis, PPA, Gas Imbalance, Gas Re-valuation, Inventory Reporting.

2. Resolving WBSE Rejects and any technical issues in P2 / Sap.

3. Administer initial / ongoing training for Revenue Accountant.

4. Support third-party/in-house audit information requests as necessary.

5. Participate in systems testing as necessary

6. Assist in acquisitions and divestments of fields.

7. Act as liaison between leadership and desk accountants for new/ongoing accounting issues.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

1. CA or MBA or Bachelors/College Degree holder (Finance/Accounting)

2. Prior Accounting experience is essential

3. 6-8 years of experience in revenue accounting processes or upstream background

4. Previous work experience in an SAP environment is an added advantage.

5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence others through effective communications

6. Ability to gain confidence of leaders and/or stakeholders

7. Ability to handle multiple priorities

8. Strong delivery focus and commitment to continuous improvement

9. Effective time management/ organizational skills and ability to independently set priorities

10. Able to adapt to new or changing circumstances and ambiguous on pressured situations
