Consultant - Retail Analytics

Principal Duties And Responsibilities:

Industry Skills:

- The candidate must have a good understanding of Retail industry, acquired by working directly in the Retail or e-commerce industry, or as part of the Retail practice of management consulting / analytics firms

- Should understand how global retail firms operate

- Should understand the nuances of fashion vs grocery vs General Merchandise retail

Functional Skills:

- Strong working experience and conceptual knowledge of atleast two key retail functions is necessary - Merchandise Planning (incl. Assortment Planning), Supply chain planning, Demand planning, Replenishment, Channel / Store operations, Space Planning

- Should understand the nuances of Retail functions & processes, KPIs and business rules across categories (grocery, fashion, home solutions etc.)

General Business Consulting Skills:

- Perform detailed analysis of Business Processes & Requirements

- Ability to identify company's key cost and value drivers and explain their priority / influence on business performance

- Ability to draw insights from complex financial and quantitative analysis and integrate these insights to formulate a strategy and drive implementation and solution roadmap

- Ability to develop strategies and operating models and assess implementation readiness and business implications

- Collaborate with client team and delivery team to drive solution design and implementation

- Ability to define and execute a transformational change plan aligned with client's business strategy and context for change

- Ability to engage stakeholders in the change journey and build commitment for change.

- Ability to manage proposals and business development efforts and coordinate with others to create consensus driven deliverables

Tool Skills:

Hands-on skills acquired through atleast 1-2 project experiences

- Data Management Tools

- Alteryx / SQL / MS Access - atleast 1

- Advanced Excel Modelling - Must

- Excel Macros, VBA - Preferable

- R / Python / SAS - atleast 1

- Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI) - atleast 1

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree from a reputed institution (Engineering or IT domain)

- Business Management Degree from a reputed institution

Experience:

- Proven experience - with at least one retail industry project on data analysis

- Functional knowledge and experience of atleast two of the below retail functions - merchandising, supply chain, store operations, forecasting, replenishment, space planning

- 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience in Consulting, Analytics or industry
