Comic Con India - Manager - Sponsorship Sales (2-3 yrs)

Position: Sponsorship Sales Manager

Reporting To: Managing Director

Department: Sponsorship Sales Team

Scope of Position:

This role is designed to focus on delivering revenue generation via sponsorships. The Manager would have to lead high level, strategic sponsorships, which may include those outside the industry or exhibitor pool but whose interest lies within access to a target market, i.e. our visitor/database. The Ideal candidate must have experience in pitching to brands & agencies and the skill set to create customized sponsorship packages for clients.

Tasks/Accountabilities : 

Researching and analysis analysing of industries, markets, brands to identify identify and determine opportunities

- Identifying Potential sponsors. for current and future business opportunities

- Build strong networks/contacts and leverage then grow these networks

- Approaching C-level business contacts and decision makers

- Consulting with prospective sponsors to understand and scope business requirements

- Create tailored, multi faceted vertical and horizontal sponsorship packages that allow the potential sponsor to maximise their access to the target market

- Produce unique detailed proposals that convey the outlined objectives, the opportunity, the ROI and the offer

- Negotiating on components or pricing of proposed sponsorship offerings

- Securing and closing high value, win-win deals

- Working with other internal teams to deliver and support all aspects of the agreement and the achievement of desired ROI

- Achieving and/or exceeding set revenue targets

Developing an ongoing relationship to ensure retention of key sponsors

Building a database of potential new sponsors to ensure a healthy pipeline of prospects

- Utilise Salesforce CRM tools to maintain detailed, accurate and up to date records regarding sales activity undertaken and sales conversations held.

Key Performance Indicators : 

- Research and sourcing skills

- Increasing leads/prospects in the database as a result of research/sourcing undertaken

- Utilises market information to achieve sales

- Conducting extensive Face to Face meetings

- Developing a range of package opportunities

- Proposals produced for each opportunity

- Consistently meets/exceeds sales metrics (research time, calls, leads generated, appointments set, meetings, proposals etc)

- Achieves/exceeds set targets (adding to existing revenue)

- Conversion of opportunities through the pipeline (leads - contact - consulting - proposal - sale)

- Establishes high retention

- Accurate reporting/recording of sales activity

Required Skills, Competencies and Experience:

- Achieving Sponsorship Revenue target.

- Developing an ongoing relationship to ensure retention of key sponsors

- Building a database of potential new sponsors to ensure a healthy pipeline of prospects

- Utilise Salesforce CRM tools to maintain detailed, accurate and up to date records regarding sales activity undertaken and sales conversations held.

- Experience in a C-level sponsorship sales role

- Exposure to a wide range of industries and sponsorship opportunities

- Ability to - cut through- and bypass gatekeepers to reach C-level decision makers

- High level consulting skills to determine objectives/requirements of potential sponsors

- Understands the way corporates view/approach sponsorships

- Creative, strategic, innovative - out of the box- thinking

- Outstanding relationship establishment and development skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Effective time management and organisational skills

- Strong research and lead generation skills to source prospects and opportunities

- Proactive and driven approach with a strong desire to work to targets

- Ability to portray a confident professional manner

- Customer focused and with long term relationship building in mind

Organisation Environment:

Comic Con India (CCI) was started with an inaugural show in February of 2011 in Delhi. The first ever Indian Comic Con as it was called then was hosted at the open-air craft bazaar, Dilli Haat, in the capital. Held over 2 days, it featured 25 exhibitors and attracted close to 5000 visitors.

Over the years since - Comic Con India expanded to 5 cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Pune. And attracted over 1,50,000 visitors cumulatively with over 1000 exhibitors at our shows (2015 Figures).

From inception, we have steadily expanded the scope of our events by involving the various industries that can help expand popular culture. We plan to continue reaching many more communities of dedicated fans as well as bringing our unique events to many more cities in India.
