Expectations from Market Researcher role: - Cogoport is looking for Market Researchers who are impactful in driving company growth from the very front-line by thoroughly examining any relevant information that may help the company make informed decisions on market tactics, determining what products should be sold and what would be the most profitable way to do it. - He or she should have proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with quantifiable examples from past roles and strong inclination of being curious, approachable, methodical (like a scientist) and a great, accurate communicator. Decodes complex issues with ease, spots patterns and responds well to pressure. Interested in psychology and behaviour (of customers). Client focused, not method focused. - He or she should be a modern thinker and believer of manager and hierarchy free organisation like Cogoport. He or she should be a custodian of culture so that any organisational politics and power centre never creeps up. 1. Data Gathering: Gather information and examine buying trends to develop a successful marketing plan. He or she should be able to gather information from various sources including monitoring competitors- marketing activities and outcomes, examining trends, markets, and common products, communicating with customers, competitors, professional organizations, and suppliers and leveraging social media, web analytics, and rankings data. 2. Data Analytics: Demonstrable work experience in market research (primary, secondary and tertiary sources) with impactful results. Proven track record in leveraging diverse data to generate meaningful and actionable information, with demonstrable successful examples. Conversant in advanced data analytics, statistics, database usage, Excel, Tableau and similar tools. Strong bias for data-driven action. 3. Data Representation: Preparing detailed action based daily, weekly and monthly reports on traffic and transaction volume, customer experience, market trends, and competitors- outcomes. 4. Customer Segmentation: Delimiting the target audience to which products or services will be sold by designing questionnaires and implementing surveys to identify the target audience. Managing distribution channels for products that correspond to the targeted audience's particularities. Recommendations to the Market Team on what the product(s) is to the market's customers, what problem the product(s) solves, how it fits into the market - where it wins, where it loses, and how it's different. 5. Strategy: Teaming with Market Team members with the aim of developing strategies to attract new consumers. Providing recommendations for future tactics, seeking to increase traffic and transaction volume. Conceptualizing collected market needs for product enhancements or developments, and share with Product Build Tribe. Determining what it will take to make customers transact (technology vs. user adoption), what it will take to make customers buy/use additional products, increasing customers - dissatisfaction with status-quo- for Market Team conclusion.
