Objective : - Assist the National Head Taxation in management of GST Litigations, Compliances, planning, assisting Zones/Business Units in interpreting the law, handling of litigation of erstwhile indirect tax regime and be an advisory specialist for all matters on Indirect Taxes - Be the first line of defense as a professional resource in all formal interaction with the GST Department (SGST and CGST), during the course of assessments and audits at business units/zones - Lead tax compliances from Indirect taxation applicable by providing timely guidance to Tax Compliance Team at Financial Shares Services (FSS) - On need basis, assist in working with government and tax agencies on policy advocacy relating to tax matters and ensure expeditious resolution. Title : Manager- Indirect Taxation Function : Finance Work Location : Bangalore Job Responsibilities : - Be a part of Corporate Tax (IDT) and assist National Head on GST and erstwhile laws - Management of Indirect Tax Compliance, Planning, Litigation, Partnering with Business, Audit and Assessments, etc. - Handholding of Zones/Units and FSS on GST Compliances - Interpretation of Laws and presentation before all Quasi-Judicial authorities (under GST regime and erstwhile regime - Briefing Counsels on issues and presentation of Company matters - Assist the IGAAP Team in finalization of accounts as far as IDT is concerned - Assist FSS to understand requirements on Units on GST Compliances - Supervising GST Audit and assessments, replying to queries and articulation of all policy matters before Statutory authorities - Assisting in formulating policies for optimization of ITC and enhancement credit opportunities - Interacting with Zones /Units and identifying special opportunities in areas of Industrial Policy incentives etc. - To ensure timely replies to all notices from tax authorities and ability and confidence to deal with senior tax officials - Responsible for Litigation Management including VAT and Service tax for pre-GST period. Further, would help resources at Zonal level for issues etc being faced by them during the course of Audit, investigation etc. - To advise various stakeholders and business partners on various business initiatives and tax optimization - Asist National Tax Head for random reviews of the operations of FSS (timely and correctly computation and payment of GST on a periodical basis and filing of relevant GST returns). This would include checking of reconciliation of Revenue, Purchase, Output GST & Input GST with Financials, dealing with Statutory Auditors and coordination with the Accounting team etc. Direct Reports : Individual Contributor (functional teams at business units/zones will support) Geographical Scope : Pan India Reports To : National Head - Tax Key Customers : - Internal Customers : Corporate Finance, FSS/BSS, Zonal Finance and Taxation, Corporate Supply Chain, Treasury Commercial and procurement department - External Customers : Tax Consultant, Lawyers, Law firms, Regulatory Authority Job Requirement : Qualifications : CA Experience : 5-8 years Indirect Tax experience Functional Skills : - Technical skills to evaluate the issues to provide business solution - Ability to manage complex tax matters - Ability to manage a team of resources at the Zonal level - Good interpretation skills of tax laws, rules, and procedures - Knowledge of accounting and Analytical ability - Very high standards of integrity and work ethics - Should have represented the company before various tax authorities and managed complex taxation issues with highest confidence Preferable from eCommerce / Retail / FMCG sector / Big4 - Should have handled multi location operations with multiple legal entities tax Compliances - Understanding of FMCG sales and distribution and statutory compliances for taxation purpose - Data analysis for tax filings : Experience of getting the data from ERP (with the help of Teams) and in-house tech systems Ability to work in high tech environment - Working Knowledge of Accounting and Reporting - Working Knowledge of Commercials - Working Knowledge of Controls and Compliance - Mastery in Indirect Taxation - Working Knowledge of Treasury and Cash Management - Exposure to SAP ERP - Proficient in Excel Skills Travel : 8-12 days in a month The apply button will redirect you to an external URL.
