Cluster Manager - Operations - Bank (5-8 yrs)

Objective :

Responsible for the branch operations and service delivery to the customers of the rural branches (tier 2 - 6),in the cluster. A cluster will consist of 4 to 10 branches.

Key Responsibilities :

- The role will be responsible for ensuring best in class service delivery at the branches for the external and internal customers

The person will be supervising the branches under the cluster and will be responsible for :

- Responsible for audit & compliance of the branches in the cluster

- Responsible for hygiene of branches in the cluster

- Monitoring and planning towards improvement in quality scores (FTR) with intent to deliver better customer service

- Resource management & hiring for the cluster

- Providing periodical training to the operations team down the line

- Providing necessary guidelines on regular basis to the cluster team to ensure smooth workflow

- Ensure resources deployed efficiently, staff rotation to create back up & arranging deputation as and when required

- Making necessary changes in order to be in line with latest developments in order to meet the regulatory guidelines and organization's expectations

- Leads, guides and motivates teamwork to achieve the highest standard of performance and set objectives

- Support to all the departments in close coordination with all related parties/stakeholders

- Reviews and recommends system enhancements

- Reviews processes and recommends improvement thereon

- Hold regular team meetings/conference call to ensure all the team members are in line with the bank- s/department's objectives

- Ensures that jobs and functions are properly segregated among staff in order not to compromise bank's security, ensuring that dual control is exercised wherever necessary

- Ensures that all the team members are clear with their JD and performance criteria, conducting performance review as per cycle and finalizing their appraisals in discussion with management

- Measures deficiencies/grievances, participates in-group discussions/meetings with concerned departments and recommends improvement of procedures/performance as required to implement the best scenario for each department in light with the bank's objectives

- Reviews Audit Observations and recommends appropriate approach to the observations in terms of applying the Operational sector standards and eventually implementing corrective actions and remedies.

- Manages cluster reports & statistics while ensuring that team is progressing as per the plan

- Ensures all operating expenses are maintained at minimum

- Has regular contacts with IT, Business, Risk, Audit, Compliance and Legal Departments related to operational matters, customer's and system's problems

- Coordinates with local banks, currency chests regarding interbank operational matters, such as Clearing, Cash indent & remittance

- Coordinates with Auditors to ensure compliance of departmental procedures and controls

- Escalation Management and getting the work completed from other departments on time

- Handling of critical complaint from both internal or external customers

- Ensuring timely dispatch of all the documents to Central Operations

- SPOC for branches in the cluster for any process, system, operational issues faced by them

- Fraud and Error Reporting

Candidate Profile :

- The candidate should have handled branch / cluster / area operations role covering atleast 5-10 branches, preferably in a bank.

- The person should have good understanding of banking operations ranging from cash management, transaction handling (FT, DD issuance, disbursements etc) and the file processing / account opening processes

- Should be well versed with regulatory requirements including AML and KYC related aspects

- Should have experience of handling team
