Overview The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries while strengthening the capabilities of governments and the private sector in those countries to create and sustain high-quality health systems that can succeed without our assistance. For more information, please visit: http://www.clintonhealthaccess.org CHAI has been working in India since 2004 in close partnership with and under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at the Central and States- levels on an array of high priority initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes. Currently CHAI works across projects to expand access to quality care and treatment for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis-C, tuberculosis, cancer and immunisation. Additionally, CHAI is also supporting the government of Madhya Pradesh (MP) on large-scale programs to arrest childhood and maternal mortality due to malnutrition, anemia, diarrhoea and pneumonia, and helping increase access to quality Family Planning services Essential Medicines Program Each year, approximately six lac children die in India due to diarrhoea and pneumonia - despite being preventable through treatment (ORS/zinc for diarrhoea; Antibiotic (Amoxicillin) and Oxygen for pneumonia). Improved access to effective and affordable treatments can dramatically reduce child mortality and morbidity. However, these products- especially zinc- are not currently reaching the children who need them. These challenges are most acute in rural areas, which are hard-to-reach and resource-compromised where children are particularly vulnerable. The goal of CHAI's Essential medicine programme is to reduce the number of children U5 who die from diarrhoea and pneumonia - primarily by increasing the percent receiving correct treatment and strengthening the overall management of childhood illnesses. CHAI operates essential medicine programme in Madhya Pradesh, which encompasses wide range of efforts to ensure availability and accessibility of treatment of both diarrhoea and pneumonia. For Diarrhoea management, CHAI is tapping RMPs (Rural medical practitioners) in rural areas to increase the coverage of both zinc and ORS. On the other hand, for pneumonia management CHAI is involved in the infrastructural strengthening of the public sector that involves providing training to public sector staffs on pneumonia symptoms and their treatment, making drugs and equipment essential for pneumonia management readily available in government hospitals of Madhya Pradesh The Essential medicines program is looking for an Associate who can shoulder the dual responsibilities of the working closely with the Program Manager on project strategy and execution and of leading both private (Diarrhoea management) and public (Pneumonia management) sector vertical. The role entails working with an entrepreneurial mindset and self-motivation. A highly qualified, dynamic, energetic person with exceptional people skills and experience of working in challenging environments would make for a strong candidate for this role. Demonstrated application of analytical skills and problem-solving in complex environments would be essential. Previous exposure to strategy projects and working on outputs for senior leadership, especially with the government, would help bolster the application. Responsibilities : - Manage the overall analytics, data-systems and insight generation. Coordinate with internal stakeholders/team members to ensure timely delivery of the same - Manage the vendor for the maintenance of the MIS system and Barcoding Module for the Private Sector - Work on the sustainability of medical-representative model in the EM Private Sector - Coordinate with state teams to monitor the private sector month on month target achievement and address any issues/impediments earnestly. - Closely coordinate with the state teams to monitor the performance of the public sector field force and review their performance - Develop a dashboard framework for monitoring the overall performance of the public sector vertical - Oxygen Strategy - Market intelligence and scoping of potential interventions/opportunities in this area - Work with the global team towards identifying the potential market of a dual device (one that measures respiratory rate and blood oxygen level simultaneously) for Pneumonia diagnosis - Coordinate with the State Team to ensure timely delivery and progress on Public and Private Sector Operational Plan - Support the Monitoring and evaluation team (M&amp;E) internal and global team on the planning, implementation and evaluation of midline/ end line surveys - Undertake any other duties as requested by the Program Manager or Country Director - Travel to states at short notice Other responsibilities as needed : Qualifications : - Master's degree in business administration, public health, health economics or related field - A minimum of 5 years of experience in private or public sector enterprise; including demonstrated success in trainings, research management and monitoring and evaluation programs - Excellent knowledge of program implementation, trainings, monitoring and evaluation methods (qualitative and quantitative), including experience of developing trainings and monitoring and evaluation plans, tools, training materials, reports and summary forms - Excellent quantitative, problem solving, analytical and statistical analysis skills - Experience of handling big datasets through use of software such as SQL, Oracle, Python, SAS etc will be desirable - Exposure to data visualization tools such as TABLEAU/POWER BI etc will be an added advantage - Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and proven track record in building strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in a challenging environment - Ability to develop new and manage existing relationships with multiple stakeholders - Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst mentoring a team to perform consistently - Experience structuring and leading evidence-based decision-making processes - Excellent structured oral and written communication ability
