Credit Risk BI Principal Business Analyst

This role is a senior role with 7-15 years experience.

Credit Risk Business Intelligence

- As a Credit Risk incumbent, you will be focused on helping our company scale through the effective use of Credit Risk through BI tools and services. 


- This will help us continue to help small business owners find lending options so they can make payroll during tough times, scale to meet market demands and making large purchases to scale their operations. The ideal candidate has strong background in the Credit Risk fundamentals by making use of Quantitative Skills (like Statistics, Mathematics, Economics and/or Advanced Computing), technical skills (Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik, DOMO, Python, Power BI, Spotfire, SQL), brings domain expertise (banking & financial sector), has strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to speak the - language of the business- and has delivered BI reports for commercial decision making. 


- The procedure involves evaluating the risks that business involved in funding. This is about providing guidance on credit risks related to lending programs that involve decent amounts of money and assessing the different businesses to which funds are offered and, thus, generate a return on the cash assets.

What You'll Do:

This role will give you endless opportunities to take on new responsibilities, learn new skills, and mentor others. Your teammates/colleagues will be distributed in NY, VA and Chennai.

- Forming partnerships with senior business stakeholders across businesses to comprehensively understand their areas of operation; and guide articulation of business reports and recommendations

- Developing and enhancing the Credit Reporting & Monitoring framework which meets the requirements of various external & internal stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Credit Risk reports. Interpret the insights and recommend actions for consideration by senior leadership

- Reducing credit risk using financial models that predict credit risk exposure and risk of default

- Providing requirements and design inputs, particularly with respect to credit risk recognition, measurement and its reporting as part of the core team for implementation of key credit risk related projects

- Clearly articulate the challenges/opportunities in business/function that can be supported by BI and the role BI plays in multi-faceted and multi team projects

- Lead identification of BI opportunities through a strong understanding of business value chain and challenges, data availability and quality and partnerships with subject matter experts

- Manage the execution of BI reports and dashboards within the portfolio

- Deliver $-value by influencing business partners in implementing the insights from the BI reports

- Leading the implementation of BI ways of working in within the group including adhering to Agile Scrum methodology

- Guide articulation of business insights and recommendations (based on model output) based on understanding of business/function and respective stakeholders

- Understand business governance and control structures & selecting the right analytical approaches which are consistent with businesses control/governance framework

- Understanding business KPI's, frameworks and drivers for performance

- Contribute to our living knowledge-base of technical documentation

- Documentation of business/data processes and repository maintenance

- Leveraging & integrating technology to address business requirements

About You:

You are an internally motivated Credit Risk Expert; Business Intelligence and penchant for numbers are firmly rooted in the way you think and work. Passion for your craft will go a long way in making you successful in this role.

- Advanced degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related areas

- Expert in Business Intelligence and Visualization platforms - Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik, DOMO, Python, Power BI, Spotfire, Qlickview, SQL

- Over the past 7+ years you've been busy designing and implementing best-in-class instances of Credit Risk, possibly for a financial service or a fintech company

- Track record of applying BI to deliver business value

- Track record of successfully delivering high number of BI projects both individually and through teams

- Deep understanding of industry/function and associated processes, data and systems

- A self-starter, love learning and are constantly working to keep your skills up to date

- The thought of inherit ambiguity and solving complex problems genuinely excites you. You have an experimental mindset that spurs you to test ideas and validate assumptions using data.

- An inherent love for technology drives you to design and implement great solutions. You understand that for solutions to be successful, they have to meet real needs and drive meaningful business value

- You have great communication and collaboration skills, an innate sense of curiosity, and an obsession with delivering solutions that bring end-users joy

- Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases

- Experience performing analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement

- A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets

- Strong project management and organisational skills
