City Manager - Retail/FMCG Industry (10-15 yrs)

The Role:

The City Manager will be a Business Head for a region, managing upto 50 stores, and reporting directly to the Founders. The incumbent will be responsible for setting up new stores, managing the entire P&L, with a strong focus on driving sales and optimizing operations. (S)he will have a team of Unit Managers and Store managers reporting to them, and work closely with the founders to drive business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end a region comprising of about 50 stores, from set-up to operations and sales, with overall P&L responsibility

- Work with founders and business development team to identify and set up new stores at rapid pace in strategic locations

- Set up and manage distributor and supplier relationships for the region

- Recruit individual unit managers and store managers for the stores within the region

- Drive sales targets for each store within the region, meeting individual and collective business targets of Sales, Profitability and Brand awareness

- Optimize and manage operations at Distribution Centers to ensure service levels and maintain supply chain efficiency and meet operational working capital cycle targets

- Manage team of Unit Managers, Store Managers, Business Development and operational staff to deliver the overall business objectives

- Managing and controlling complainces of the pharmacy business in the region, including liaising with local authorities and creating alliances with local customer bodies

- Controls and Audit process for Pilferages at the Stores

Desired Skills and Expertise:

- 10+ year experience as a regional sales / operations manager in a retail / fmcg business

- Experience of building and managing large and diverse teams

- Strong flexibility and problem-solving skills, with independent ownership and result orientation

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to plan and manage a variety of projects

- Commercial insight and understanding

- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and demonstrate creativity and intellectual flexibility in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment

Qualifications : Degree in Engineering from premier institute or MBA from Tier 1 / 2 B School

Experience : 10+ year experience in Sales & Operations, having managed large business verticals independently

Skills : Leadership, team management, sales, operations, analyticss
