Finance Manager

Role Title : Finance Manager/Senior Manager (Role: Brand finance analyst)

Reporting to : Director - Business Finance

Location : Art Guild House, Phoenix Market City, Kurla

BRIEF OVERVIEW :

- Cipla is the 2nd largest Indian pharmaceutical company with a business turnover exceeding US$ 1.5 Bn. and a global presence across 170 nations. Cipla Health Limited is an independent subsidiary of Cipla which takes care of the Consumer Healthcare business.

- Year 2016, the 80-year-old drug major spun off its consumer health business to Cipla Health.

- The Consumer Health care business has been identified as a huge business opportunity with a hidden potential of being a INR 10 Bn.+ business by 2020. The business currently has a strong pipeline of products & ideas in the pre-launch stage in the country.

- Cipla Health is now led by Shivam Puri, who brings with him over 16 years of rich work experience across FMCG majors including stints at ITC, Unilever and Jubilant Food works.

- Considering the increasing portfolio & pipeline, the candidate will be responsible for financial planning, managing brand P&Ls, evaluation of new products, measuring effectiveness of marketing spends, working capital management, MIS among others

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY :

In particular, the role to include :

1. Brand Financials :

- Meeting top-line/bottom-line estimates of brands, highlighting variances/concerns

- Ensuring brand profitability at targeted level, keeping tight control on costs and promotion spends

- Leading discussions on improving GM, setting targets for cost reduction, engaging Purchase team to improve GM by better negotiation with RM/PM vendors

- Liaise with marketing & sales team on pricing decisions

- Measuring effectiveness of A&P spends

- Channel wise profitability

2. New product development evaluation & launch :

- Conducting thorough financial analysis at identified stages of new product development (NPD) evaluation

- Feasibility study of NPD basis GM, capex requirement, market sizing & estimation

- Negotiating with LL vendors for capex/conversion charges

- Participate in launch plans of new products/ line extensions, provide support to marketing, sales, operations team to facilitate successful & timely launch

3. Financial Planning & Analysis :

- Analyse expenses, track revenue and expenses closely, drive cost reduction initiatives wherever possible

- Involve in Annual Budgeting exercise, should be able to independently explain variances between budget and actuals

- Optimise working capital and help in releasing cash

- Forecast business performance over next quarter, year, 5 years to develop Strategy Roadmap for the company

- Publish monthly MIS/ scorecard for top management and highlight concerns

- Lead other strategic projects, as desirable

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE & DESIRED SKILL SETS :

Education :

- CA - 1st attempt/Rank holder/MBA from Tier 1

Experience :

- Up to 4-6 years- work experience (post qualification) in FMCG/OTC manufacturing set-up of reputed firm

Knowledge :

- SAP functional knowledge, proficient in MS Excel

Skills :

- Ability to work in unstructured environment, conceptualise

- Self-driven, multi-tasking, good interpersonal skills
