Accountability Cluster Major Activities / Tasks :

- Ensure employee relations Policies & processes to resolve conflicts and provide good working conditions, security of employment, a healthy and safe working environment and the scope to raise and resolve grievances.

- Advise the HR Team & Business Leaders on key HR aspects related to employee relations

- Develop & implement ER policies and ensure alignment with ER strategy PAN India

- Generate & update timely & accurate ER MIS for facilitating decision-making

- Address & resolve employee issues, steer continuous improvement, manage crisis and adhere to compliances

- M & A - Pre- acquisition due diligence and Post Acquisition Integration and Assimilation support

- Support to execute the Industrial Relations strategy & framework by the partnership with business and other HR sub-functions to maintain harmonious industrial relations - Provide all necessary IR support for Industrial Relations strategy, periodically assess the IR health of all manufacturing units and distribution depots and prepare report.

- Data Support provision for union negotiation mechanisms to ensure collective bargaining with unions.

- Record the observations collected from different sources on union activities to develop industry intelligence

- Execute and provide support for employee-related disciplinary proceedings, grievances, litigations and legal issues in order to maintain harmonious employee/industrial relations 


- Support (coordination with experts, making draft and other documents etc.) HRBPs to manage all employee disciplinary issues in accordance with defined service rules (integrity issues, assault, insubordination, false reporting, and misleading information etc.)

- Check, follow up and periodically audit of various vendors of the contractor to effectively manage the contract labour related issues

- Support to manage grievance redressed mechanisms as per the defined Cipla policy (also define and review existing policies as applicable)

- Attend hearings on behalf of Cipla for the legal issues/ litigations arising out of disciplinary actions or terminations to ensure appropriate closure

- Tracking of all the legal / court cases and coordinating with advocates.

- Managing the Cipla Employee Provident Fund trust to ensure the collection, maintenance and disbursal the PF amounts to Employees as per the EPFO guidelines 


- Filing paperwork and manual compliances like challans /returns as per the Employee Provident Fund Organization guidelines

- Deducting the PF contribution from the employee salaries/wages on a monthly basis, remitting them to the EPF fund through notified banks.

- Consolidating all deductions made on a monthly basis and returns to be submitted to Regional Provident Fund Organization.

- Managing the online EPF portal that provides easy employee access for loan requests and withdrawals

- Processing of every new employee in the system

- Facilitating annual/periodical inspections by authorities that cater to the field and non-field employee compliances (Labour Commissioners/ Factory Inspectors/ ESIC-EPFO Directors etc.)

- Contract Labour Management - Comply to Contract Labour (R&A) Act

- Conceptualize and implement Contract Labour Policy

- Guide HRBP on the engagement of contract labour to reduce the risk of litigation

- Liaising with the different government (labour ministry) departments to ensure smooth operation of business within the set industry principles 


- Registration/ certification etc. of the centrally managed contractors

- Statutory compliance's & Liaising for Mumbai establishment, India Business locations and other associate organizations


 - Support to business teams to ensure appropriate compliances and to resolve the IR issues.

- Ensure updating of new amendments in various laws/rules, notification in updated in compliance's.

- Ensuring the compliances on POSH as per the provision of status. 


 - Extend support to conduct refresher floor walks/training at every manufacturing site including associate companies once a year

- Co-ordinating with external NGO member to ensure proper investigation and compliances

- Support ICC team in investigation of case.

Educational qualifications:

- Full Time MBA in Human Resources with excellent knowledge of Labour laws (preferred)

- Or an MLS/MSW/MPM: Full time course

Relevant experience:

- Work Experience of 6 to 10 years in Employee / Industrial Relations / Compliance Specialist role
