Cipla - Capacity Planning Manager (2-5 yrs)

Capacity & Strategic Growth Driver Estimation – Establish, Maintain and track Business serviceability by:

- Engaging manufacturing units meaningfully and develop and maintain database on respective product’s output based on agreed process of data collation

- Analyze the business forecast against the available ‘Capacity’ numbers and determine capacity bottlenecks

- Identify bottlenecks across manufacturing units and determine ‘load’ on those areas / equipments

- Limit those loads to agreed value by communicating to BD colleagues proactively

- Work with Business Development teams to identify 7 to 10 Strategic products for each Region within Cipla such that special attention can be provided to those products for supply assurance

Immediate Bottleneck identification – Assessment of bottleneck situations hampering current, short-term serviceability by:

- Regular supply analysis – to identify areas of concern as per order backlog

- Interacting with cross functional members (Planning, R&D, etc) and identifying issues that can affect capacity matter by lowering output significantly

- Identifying bottlenecks associated with manufacturing/packaging areas

Solution Identification – Ensuring thorough and comprehensive solutions are identified by:

- Discussing with Manufacturing teams on possible solutions to alleviate the situation

- Visiting the respective sites and working with units in arriving at well thought of solutions

- Identifying solution details in terms of their actions items, implementation plan, cost and time lines for ready to commercial supply

Facilitation of CapEx proposal – Facilitate Capital Expenditure proposal by:

- Engaging the Manufacturing Units and working with them on preparing the project’s cost and time estimates

- Working with Manufacturing Units in finalizing the CapEx proposals as per Cipla’s guidelines

Project Charter – Ensure regular updates from above areas are tracked by:

- Developing Project Charter as per the agreed solution

- Issuing the Project Charter to the concerned Manufacturing Units so that common understanding is achieved and stakeholders agree towards a common goal and timelines

- Developing Weekly Update sheet on key issues to be discussed with Team leader and thereafter, tracked as per agreed action plan

Process Sustenance – Ensure Capacity Planning process flow achieves a sustainable standard by:

- Always working in proper work ethos as per Cipla’s standards and expectations

- Participating in regular intra-team ideation discussions

- Identifying ‘Self-development’ needs and subsequently, avenues where such requirements can be addressed

- Identifying critical work areas whereby management can keep certain redundancy

- Work with L+1 and L+2 levels to map career development plan and accordingly develop an Goal-sheet for self

SKILL SET AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

This job requires the following skill sets:

- Excellent verbal and written communication – The incumbent needs to be effective in his / her communication and must possess good clarity of expression

- Sound Presentation Skills – Presentation is mostly beyond just some slides. Incumbent is required to be able to present their ideas to different audiences and still give same level of clarity across variety of functional teams

- Bold and Confident Attitude – The incumbent is required to have a very positive attitude which should be emanating from a ‘go-getter’ personality. While there would be complete support from the organization to make incumbent’s every endeavor a success, there will also be situations which can never be envisaged in advance. Thus, conviction and confidence will be most valued asset that is needed in the employee at all levels

- Interpersonal Skills – The incumbent will always be functioning across a multitude of functions and levels within the organization, and his / her future growth will depend upon ability to take entire team towards success

- Negotiation Skills – Incumbent must be adept at expressing Cipla’s position and yet win over his / her colleagues by right influence and quality such as to conclude matters effectively without any delay

- Analytical bent of mind – Incumbent must be ‘exceptionally’ good with numbers and should be able to view data from varied perspectives bringing out insights that aid in decision making across levels, especially for Senior Management

- Clarity of thought process – It will be imperative that incumbent is able to attain full clarity in organization’s expectation as well as business priorities very quickly and he / she should be able to prioritize his / her tasks effectively

Qualification required is as follows:

- Education and prior Experience – The incumbent should be an engineer and a MBA from a reputed institute. Having MBA is not mandatory if the candidate has an engineering qualification and experience with formulation (preferred) plants. In case of no experience, Engineer and MBA would be mandatory. If incumbent has prior experience in a plant and is a MBA, he can also be considered. Candidates with cross-functional experience will be preferred.

- Experience Limits – For candidates with only engineering degree, at least 4 years of manufacturing experience together with sound knowledge of Regulatory, R&D and Manufacturing aspects is mandatory. In case of limited manufacturing exposure (including SCM as main function with sound knowledge of plant operations), MBA and subsequent 3 year (at least) work-ex would be preferred. Fresher with Engineering and MBA qualification can be considered.

GENERAL

Many such requirements will involve identifying right communication among cross-functional teams as well as interacting with departments for various proposal development, etc.
