- The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for all the operations of Sutara Learning Foundation. Sutara is embarking on a scale up of its operations (B2G) to deploy tablets loaded with our software to a number of government/low-income schools in multiple Indian states. We are also in the process (B2C) of directly reaching children and children's parents to download and use our app in homes and/or communities.

- The COO will be responsible for overseeing both activities and providing strategic direction and thought leadership to the respective teams, with the ultimate objective of driving large-scale adoption of Chimple in schools and homes all over India. The COO will also identify partnership opportunities and forge relationships with government departments, academicians and other NGOs to greatly increase awareness and usage of the Chimple App

Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute the strategic plan for all operational activities

- Create performance targets for operations teams and provide teams with strategic oversight to meet their targets

- Create and operationalize best practices for in-school and at-home implementation of EdTech

- Manage and mentor the in-school and at-home operations teams.

- Identify opportunity areas for expansion for both in-school and at-home programs and drive outreach and execution in these areas

- Work with an ecosystem of partners across governments, school leadership, research firms, measurement & evaluation firms and distribution partners to increase adoption of Chimple in schools and homes

- Hire team for operations

Qualifications:

- 12+ years of work experience with managerial responsibilities, demonstrating superb project delivery and team leadership

- Experience in growing and managing team members

- Advanced writing and presentation skills (ability to communicate complex ideas in a meaningful way), ability to manage projects and lead teams

- Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships both within and outside the organization

- Strong planning and organizational skills, and an ability to be able to set priorities, plan timelines and meet deadlines

Optional Qualifications:

- Direct involvement with educational institutions as an administrator

- Experience dealing with government departments, rules and regulations

- Experience working with an Educational Technology firm

- Masters degree or equivalent in relevant fields: including management, economics, social sciences and public policy
