Chief Vigilance Officer

Job Summary :
- Create a Framework which deters and eliminates scope of wrongdoing in the organization
- Ensure that all the reported incidences are investigated, reported and acted upon as per SOP, without hampering the business and suitable legal recourses taken.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining corrective and preventive risk mechanism in the region.
- Ensure proper financial and manpower budgeting and utilization
Role & Responsibilities :
Business :
- Preventive Vigilance
- Review and make appropriate changes in the existing rules and procedures of the Organisation with a view to eliminate or minimise the scope for corruption or malpractices
- Identify the sensitive/corruption areas and high risk process based on KRIs/KPIs and align the regional teams to monitor personnel posted in such areas
Punitive Vigilance :
- Identify & appoint Enquiry Officers; conduct enquiries as per DoA and identified SLAs
- Ensure availability of all enquiry reports as per standard guidelines for the consumption of regulatory authorities and other internal & external governing bodies
- Review final orders as per DoA; present to the Disciplinary Authority; as applicable
- Ensure recovery of losses from culprits and fraudsters within the available legal framework
- Deliver responsibilities as Chair of Fraud committee and member of Disciplinary committee, Sexual Harassment Panel, Whistle-blower committee and other such committees where CVO presence is mandated
- Serve as the point of contact for media, police department, CBI, RBI and other such applicable statutory bodies; as required
- Ensure that the employees within the firm maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics, integrity, and control in execution of all their daily operations
Customer :
- Ensure adherence to TAT of crime assessments, investigations, submission of reports to regulatory bodies
- Monitor closure of background verification of new joinees within defined timelines.
Desired Qualification : Master's Degree; with a diploma/degree in law preferably
Desired Experience :
- Candidates with 14+ years of experience, preferably in BFSI/Telecom/FMCG industries
- Should have handled cross functional investigations, managed corporate relationships with senior officers in administration across the country
Functional Knowledge & Skills :
- Candidate should have set up Risk/Fraud Control Units, and set up networks relating to R/FCU
- Must have reported to Audit Committee/Risk Committee at Management Level
- Should bring resource with strong investigation skills on-board
- Ability to conduct high level investigations and report judiciously
