Chief Technology Officer

Role Description :

- The CTO at Guild Capital will map business requirements for our portfolios to frontend technical requirements and help build quick and efficient solutions that are scalable.

- The candidate will be responsible for advising on the right technology stacks, as well as leading and building a world class team of frontend and backend developers to assist our portfolios.

- The CTO will play a significant role in implementing the long-term technology vision for our portfolios which will include experimentation with new and relevant technologies and driving adoption of best practices.

- In summary, the candidate will be instrumental in building, growing and operating systems at scale for our portfolios whose needs are evolving rapidly.

- We are seeking a results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex problems with a focus on implementation.

- Candidates with 7+ years of overall experience with at least 4 years of prior frontend development experience for high-performance websites and apps is preferred.

- The CTO should ideally have a bachelors/advanced degree in Computer Science.

- Experience with eCommerce companies / fast growing companies, an understanding of multiple mainstream programming languages is required.

Core responsibilities :

- Work closely with portfolios across US and India and provide thought leadership in Website/ App development

- Provide decisive and effective technical leadership for all Frontend and Backend development efforts

- Strong understanding of latest technologies and their strengths, shortcomings and applicability to our portfolios

- Close coordination with our Creative Director to implement and develop websites/apps/PWAs for portfolios

- Strategic decision-making ability on architecture and development of largely front-facing projects, like websites and web-services

- Developing features to enhance the user experience

- Optimising web pages/ apps/PWAs for maximum speed and scalability

- Tech Stack- Frontend several stacks: HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, bootstrap, CSS3 animations & interactions

- Strong knowledge of Nodejs, React, vue.js, angular 2+

- Proficiency in quickly adapting open source technologies like Shopify, Wordpress, other eCommerce platforms.

- Experience with Shopify theme customisation, playing around Shopify liquid files & Shopify product & collection architecture will be an added bonus

- Knowledge about theme development, plugin customisation, app & REST api integration

- Experience with responsive and adaptive design

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Ability to build, train and mentor a strong engineering team Ideal Candidate Background

- Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science from Tier 1 colleges (IITs/ BITS/ NITs/ IIITs)

- Strong problem solving skills to create technological solutions for business problems in the most efficient manner

- Technically hands-on, with 5+ years of experience in designing and developing real-time internet applications

- Strong Communication Skills demonstrating the ability to present and explain ideas and concepts.
