Chief Technology Officer - Digital Health Startup

About us

We are an early stage digital health startup (currently operating in stealth mode), focusing on improving access to healthcare. We are looking for someone who is passionate about healthcare, creating awesome customer experiences, and scaling businesses.

Role & responsibilities

- Take complete ownership and responsibility of technology, engineering, and product functions

- Define the product and technology vision, roadmap, and strategy for the company

- Lead the functions to achieve the company vision, goals, user growth, engagement, revenue, cost, and other financial targets

- Plan, recruit, and manage the entire technology team

- Build processes, systems, and controls to ensure achievement of speed, quality, experience, and cost metrics

- Build a highly secure and scalable solution that supports expansion in services and geographies to achieve growth in users, engagement, and revenue

- Continuously innovate the product and adopt newer systems, frameworks, methods, and platforms that yield competitive advantage

- Ensure data privacy, protection, and security systems, compliant with local and global healthcare and data privacy standards

- Build world-class data analytics capabilities and leverage data to build strong moats

- Set-up, monitor and upgrade technology systems to insure world-class performance on key speed, time to market, scalability, reliability, interoperability, privacy, security, cost efficiency metrics

- Manage technology partners and vendors

- Maintain technology costs within the set budgets

- Be part of the company leadership team and participate in planning and review processes

Requirements

- MBA from a premier B-school and degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a premier university

- At least 5 years on hands-on development experience and 5 years of team management/leadership experience

- Prior experience in an e-comm startup will be an added advantage

- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of various tech stacks, methodologies, frameworks, components and cloud platforms

- Well versed with React Js, React Native, Angular Js, Node Js, Java, PHP, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase, Mongo DB, Python, Django, AI/ML, DevOps, AWS, OOPs concepts

- Deep understanding of Google and social network platforms

- Experience of building agile, highly scalable, data-driven platforms from scratch

- Experience in managing enterprise-grade systems and architecture

- Be a self-driven leader who takes ownership and leads by example

- Self-starter with the ability to understand the customer and think strategically about business priorities

- Excellent collaboration, persuasion, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a full-time, equity-based leadership role.
