Hiring for a CTO role in a leading fintech firm as they are launching an Exchange and Clearing House in Singapore to meet the commercial needs of the market.
The candidate needs to understand and support the development of modern systems and operations used for clearing commodity futures and options.
The CTO will be responsible to provide technological vision and roadmaps as well as to develop tactical plans to align with business requirements and growth plans for clearing commodity futures and options. And yes, build something from ground.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO to provide guidance, input, advice, and direction on all issues relating to the Exchange and Clearing systems, define technological product vision and strategy
- Responsible to conceptualize, manage and drive the implementations of strategic technological projects including cyber operations, security orchestration, governance and ensuring compliance with project delivery & IT compliance framework
- Responsible to drive the in-house partners and stakeholders engineering capabilities translating from business process change requirements and delivers business objectives
- Provide leadership and technical advice to business users, technical teams, and vendors to adoption of strategic digital transformation framework and standards.
- Manage project financials and keep track of project costs, scope, risk, schedule and progress, performance, deliverables, issues, escalations, and conflicts
- Leading all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance required for their Exchange & Clearinghouse strategy and business model
- Responsible for managing the acquisition of key services and staff to support the system launch plan and ultimately system operations and upgrading post launch
- Point of contact for technical guidance and support in the complete range of applications software development including UI, Cloud Data Storage, Web applications, FIX protocol/API, Testing, Version control and Release management
- Represent the firm and its subsidiaries in its relations with customers, suppliers, competitors, and direct investors, and the financial community, governmental agencies, professional associations, and similar groups as deemed necessary by the functional requirements of the role
- Allocating tasks and managing workload of the tech team, provide transparency and clear accountability of progress to the CEO and Project Management Team
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of ten years' experience in senior positions ideally within Financial Market Infrastructures
- Deep familiarity and thorough understanding of all elements of exchange, clearing and settlements to include technical and operational issues associated in running a Clearing facility (including processes and infrastructure)
- Familiarity and understanding of Exchange operations and business development
- Strong experience in designing and building complex software systems and applications leveraging on cutting edge technologies
- Strong technical knowledge of emerging technologies and Cloud with hands-on experience in product development, deployment, and its best practices
- Thrives in ambiguous and complex environments with ability to analyze, make decisions and overcome showstoppers/challenges
- Experience in project management to ensure timely deliverable
- Building quality assurance and data protection processes, ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards
