Chief Risk Officer - BFS (16-25 yrs)

Client Profile - Our client is one of the finest impact investing firms in the country. A group with impact finance in their DNA they have interests in Micro Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting and Debt Financing. We are looking for a CRO for their Debt Financing firm .

The role is based in Mumbai and will report to the CEO and the Board and also coordinate with Investee firms

Job Profile:

- Ensuring that the Governance, Risk, Compliance and Control Frameworks of the firm are operating effectively.

- Ensuring that these frameworks are maintained and updated as approved by the Board

- Making operative the risk controls required by the Frameworks to remain within agreed risk appetite.

- Compiling, assessing and reporting risk information to the CEO and the Board.

- Ensuring that the firm activities comply with relevant legislation and regulation.

Key Result Areas

- Developing, managing and refining qualitative and quantitative risk reporting which meets theneeds of the Board, in order to support effective decision making.

- Working closely with the key leadership executives, senior managers across the business and representatives of the shareholder moulding a high-achieving, well-controlled organisation which can achieve growth targets safely

- Formulating and articulating a coherent risk appetite and infrastructure, including operating and financial models .

- Continuously developing, enhancing and embedding the risk framework for managing risk across the institution, ensuring that processes are fit for purpose.

- Establishing and maintaining corporate governance systems and committee structures and reviewing and confirming investment processes.

- Embedding a positive culture of confident and informed risk-taking through training, communication and promotion of the agreed risk framework

- Partnering effectively with third parties, regulatory bodies and others, as appropriate & serving as a role model for high personal and corporate ethical values and standards of integrity.

- Developing Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an enterprise risk management framework.

- Establishes the Enterprise Risk Management architecture for the company.

- Ensures the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization. This role will be expected to fully understand the business and evaluate, improve, monitor and provide leadership in the effectiveness of credit risk management controls, systems, and processes across the organization. s.

- Communicate to all stakeholders - internal and external - about risk. Develop, maintain, and update risk governance framework.

- Design sustainable processes to mitigate credit risk by framing in depth control testing processes, evaluating business operations, participating in the evaluation of new products and business opportunities, and providing aggregated and detailed reports on credit risk in line with risk appetite and limits

- Frame technological processes and build IT Strategy across the NBFC including assessment of current IT Roadmap, stakeholder mapping, IT implications of business plans and derivation of key IT initiatives

11. Strategic projects across the business units - Security Implementation, IT Audits etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

a) Ability to be critically analytical and understand the models

- At least 12 years experience

- Experience in Small and Medium Enterprise- Lending and Risk Mitigation

- Excellent Exposure to Governance, Risk and Compliance exposure in a NBFC or Bank

b) Excellent understanding of the supply value chains of the organization: Strategic and tactical thinker.

c) Ability to understand business issues and compare risk and reward.

d) Ability to synthesize a lot of data and see trends and potential impact on company.

e) Exceptional Communication Skills, the person needs to be assertive and lead by example

f) Leader/ educator in terms of promoting a risk culture and the project manager of risk initiatives.

g) Bachelor's/Master's degree with at least 15 years of experience in the field.
