JD- Chief Product Officer
The responsibilities of the CPO include product vision, product strategy, product design, product development, and product marketing. The CPO must be a visionary and an avid evangelist of the product as well as a great leader and supervisor
Objectives and Responsibilities of the Chief Product Officer
1. Leadership/Supervisory Role:
- Set and Lead the entire product management team.
- Handle day to day management of ongoing projects to strategizing with CTO/founders, and planning the execution of upcoming projects/initiatives.
- Manage entire product lifecycle from planning the strategic bets to writing specs for the features/ functionalities & working across engineering,
- Modifying the product daily and managing the performance of the product. Work closely with other verticals to manage projects, modify marketing collateral
- Engage with various team departments such as Customer Support, Curriculum, BD/Sales, etc, and understand the need for new product initiatives for improvement of existing tools for higher productivity or better user experience.
2. Vision and Strategy:
- Formulate the Product Management departments vision and impart that vision in every sub-department and employee in the department.
- Spearhead the products strategy formation as well as execution.
3. Long-Term Culture:
- Responsible for the creation of a long-term business culture and Mode of Operation (MO).
- Establishes the methodologies and procedures for conducting research, design conceptualization, prototyping, and product development across the entire product management department.
4. Other Duties:
Also conduct other duties as he deems necessary in the effective performance of his role or as directed by the business's stakeholders and Employer.
Required Qualifications of the Chief Product Officer
Education: Engineering and Post-graduation in business management from Tier 1 Institutes
Experience:
A CPO must have vast experience of over 15 years in a high-ranking Product Management position, preferably as a Head of product Management in a complex business setting. Preferably who have experience in scaling up the product in early-stage companies.
Communication:
It is an absolute necessity for the CPO to possess great verbal and written communication skills. The CPO makes numerous presentations to the business's stakeholders reporting on various aspects of the products development, from marketing, research, analytics, management, and profitability
Leadership Skills:
- Must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and an ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire cross-functional teams with professionalism and clarity.
- Proven ability to build teams and lead organizations in a rapidly growing environment with experience of managing product managers
