Business Planning, Policy Formulation and Budgeting
- In conjunction with the Deputy Managing Director and the Senior Management team, formulate the Steel business strategy and lead the implementation, in line with Company's vision and mission.
- Ensure the Corporate strategy is translated into annual operational business plans within the defined budgetary limits. Monitor the performance during the course of the year.
- Ensure that the departmental policies and guidelines are developed, reviewed, updated and maintained to align the operational activities.
Business Operation and Safety -
- Analyze and evaluate the performance of Steel Operations/ Production in meeting objectives or to determine areas of potential cost reduction, quality improvement, or policy change.
- Director coordinates financial or budget activities to fund business operations, maximize investments, or increase efficiency through various improvement projects.
- Ensure effective coordination between various parts of the Steel business value chain and minimize conflict.
- Review and analyze work environments and direct programs and procedures to control, eliminate and prevent accidents or injury due to safety issues.
Sales & Marketing Management -
- Provide guidance on marketing strategy, based on knowledge of market characteristics, cost and markup factors balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Drive team to conduct incremental research for developing products with commercial potential.
- Provide direction to develop a comprehensive sales plan to ensure achievement of tonnage and profitability objectives.
- Ensure appropriate adoption of market discounting practices to drive leadership for Company.
Supply Chain Management -
- Direct procurement, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service, or safety.
- Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs.
- Ensure appropriate coordination between production and procurement to ensure material supply as per production plan.
Leadership, Talent and Culture Development -
- Attract and develop talent at the senior management level in the steel business.
- Direct the process of effective department performance, overseeing performance management, recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure the high level of engagement and a motivated work environment.
- Engage and mentor direct reports to prepare them for larger and higher roles with Company.
