Chief Legal Officer - Infrastructure Company - Chennai


A reputed Big Infrastructure Company is looking for Chief Legal Officer. Candidates only from Infrastructure Company Legal Experience would be preferred. Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate. Candidates willing to relocate to Chennai can also be considered. Experience in Public, Private Participation Project work Experience will be preferred.

Chief Legal Officer

1. To offer strategic advice for various legal, commercial and regulatory matters

2. To draft, negotiate and review contracts

3. To ensure highest standards of Legal Compliance and Ethics are maintained in the Organization

4. To identify potential risks and have mitigation plans ready for the same

5. To represent the Organization in Courts and Tribunals .

6. To steer the matters that are in Litigation and Arbitration, with appropriate due diligence

7. In pre bid advisory stage, support bidding and project finance teams by advising them on pertinent legal aspects

8. Ensure appropriate due diligence is done in all legal matters.

9. To hold regular meetings with Legal Counsels, Solicitors, Consultants & Advocates.

10. To be in frequent touch with Government bodies like NHAI, CERC, MORTH, CEA and CTU, other relevant Central & State authorities and lenders and Investors.

Legal :

- Proven credentials with extensive litigation and arbitration experience

- Practicing experience in lower/ district courts

- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks that govern the sectors

Required - LLB. LLM would be an added advantage

- 20 - 25 years of Overall experience

- Achieve favorable judgements and awards for the claims

- 100% documentation of all processes and regular comparison to best in class processes.

- Ensuring idle funds are less than 5%

- Ability to deal with uncertainty

- Handle a large team

- Negotiating skills

- Relationship management / Interpersonal skills

- Networking / Influencing skills
