CFO - With Venture Capital Firm


Hiring CFO for a leading Venture Capital firm.

Looking for a CFO to lead its finance team. The role has a few distinct aspects:

- Fund management

- Partner with Investment Team to drive deal closure

- Portfolio support

Role:

Fund Management:

- Manage strategic aspects of fund portfolio management.

- Understand administrative jurisdictions, compliance requirements currently in place and likely to emerge in the future. Advise partners on impact of new and upcoming regulations as relates to fund structures

- Owning exit management of portfolio companies for either M&A, Secondary Sales or IPO.

- Drive the fund accounting team in the preparation of the funds' periodic Net Asset Value calculation and year-end financial statements, management of the audit, tax and reviewing other fund related reports.

- Periodic Portfolio company valuations and fund performance, as well as conduct competitive reviews and other ad-hoc GP/LP projects.

- Fund level dashboards and models, LP reporting ( quarterly and annual)

- Review and Oversee all capital calls, capital account statements, management fee calculations.

- Manage process and accounting for secondary sales, trust transfers, legal opinions,

- Identify and develop relationships with relevant service providers for fund management.

- Work with service providers to generate and distribute capital account statements, tax documents on schedule. Review processes and improve efficiency

- Be a thought leader and cultivate relationships with other private equity funds to identify and incorporate best practices for fund management and portfolio management

Investment Team Partnership:

- Drive Termsheet & ShareHolder Agreement (SHA) with new portfolio companies. Drive due diligence process, managing relevant tax and legal service providers, for efficientand quick transaction closure.

- Be aware of, and innovate to come up with different approaches for different kinds of transactions (pre-seed cheque, regular Seed/Series A, or follow on investment).

Portfolio:

- Helping portfolio companies' founder/CEOs and CFOs/heads of finance with strategic advice and finance best practices, constructing teams, compliance matters, spanning all stages (seed, early, growth) and across sectors.

- Review and legal and financing documents for new funding rounds, M&A, secondary

sales, moving company registrations across domains

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Preferably 10-15 years track record of progressive career development in corporate accounting, consulting and finance

- Strong understanding of Tax jurisdictions, compliance requirements, deal structures specifically as pertains to liquidation events for portfolio companies and fund

- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

- Previous early stage to growth company experience; passion for startups is a big plus.

- Understanding of venture capital processes highly desirable

- Have an ability to cultivate a strong network of best-in-class business partners of 3rd party firms including Legal, Finance, Diligence esp. In the US and India.

- Leadership skills to influence and mentor startup founders by influence not just by authority.

- Experience in regular reporting requirements and financial modeling.

- Excellent analytical and communication skill
