Chief Financial Officer - FMCG (7-9 yrs)

Looking for a CFO based out of Cochin

Client is a successful FMCG company , leading the market in south . Currently eyeing the next orbit of growth through Venture Capital Investments

The position reports into the Founder and Managing Director

Position Objective:

- This position will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects our company, and will provide strategic financial input to senior management.

- Drive the development of strategic business and financial plans, in alignment with overall corporate goals

Strategic Management :

- Responsible for Fund and Cash Flow Management and ensuring availability of funds as per requirements this an extremely key role for Goodbuy

- Prepare the Annual Business Plan, Department budgets and Financial MIS

- Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.

- Communicate, engage and interact with Board of Directors, CEO,and Executive Leadership Team.

- Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models.

- Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks.

Business Operations :

- Ensure timely preparation of accounting statements including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies and statutory processes

- Ensure records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.

- Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team.

- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures.

- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data.

- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.

- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.

People and Team :

- Mentor and develop a team of senior managers , managing work allocation, systems training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.

- Interact with and bring department into line with Board of Directors' plans, initiatives and recommendations.

- Interact with other functions to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations

- To develop successors up to 2 levels.

Continuous Improvement :

- Manage financial planning and analysis department.

- Supervise creation of reports, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting.

- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systemsManage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability.

- Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization's plans and operating budgets.

Business Metrics :

- Adherence to planning and financial management milestones

- Achievement of Budgeted EBITDA;

- Implementation and anchoring of CapEx, OpEx and RevEx budgets for the organization

- Compliance with all local, state, and central statutory and reporting requirements

Internal Interactions: Sales Head , Operations Head, Marketing Manager, HR Mnager External Interactions: BOD, Share Holders, Partners/Vendors/Suppliers, Consultants, Customers, Government Bodies, Public Forums, Industry Associations, Auditors

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

- Strong leadership and organizational skills

- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices

- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

- Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues.

- Ability to strategize and solve problems

- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

- Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner
