Role : Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced and versatile CFO. The CFO will be the go-to person on everything related to fundraising, capitalisation table management, investor relations, financial strategy, accounting, and regulatory compliance for the rapidly growing company. You will work hand-in-hand with the CEO on overreaching business decisions and strategy. This is a dynamic, hybrid role for someone to translate their finance + startup experience to scaling an early-stage, high-growth, and mission-driven startup.

You will also be trusted as an external facing liaison for investors and business partners and will own the entire financial strategy of the company. Overall, your bread-and-butter will be establishing, planning, and scaling accounting and financial processes to guide and grow the firm.

Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising, investor relations, and capitalisation table management

- Serve as primary liaison for company to existing and potential investors

- Spearhead fundraising process from sourcing, pitching, leading the creation of company material and data room, presenting financials, to closing

- Lead the creation of board decks; own the financial and business model presentation

- Model out cap table and liquidation waterfalls to inform fundraising strategy and negotiations

2. Financial strategy

- Model budget and cash burn

- Advise CEO and team leaders on long-term company strategy based on long-term financial projections and plan

- Creatively analyze company operations and suggest measures for efficiencies

- Help arrange dealer-financing with partner banks

3. Accounting

- To take charge of the entire Finance and Accounting department

- Responsible for management of all aspects of financial and corporate accounting functions inclusive of financial planning, financial and management reporting, budgetary controls, treasury, funding, tax planning and management

- Developing accounting policies, standardize internal control measures

4. Legal /Regulatory

- Oversee company's legal agreements with collaborators, investors, and partners

- Work with legal team on contracts including CDAs/NDAs/SPAs etc

- Ensure compliance with local laws including tax laws

The Successful Applicant:

The ideal CFO will be confident in leading a business financially and be responsible for the growth of the company and must possess the requirements below;

- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree and preferably a member of any professional accounting body (CMA/CA )

- At least 9+ years of working experience, preferably with Tech Startup/ Auto/e-Mobility Product firm
