Chief Financial Officer - CA - FMCG (10-17 yrs)

Our client is a leading online home improvement and interiors company providing end to end solutions for consumers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Controls and Planning Leadership:

1. Drive the organization's financial planning and controls process.

- Continue to establish credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends to assist the co founders, the Board and other senior executives in performing theirresponsibilities.

- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.

- Provides strategic leadership for financial planning using business insight and operational understanding.

- Run the day to day operational control, compliance, legal processes to ensure the smooth running of the organization

2. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.

- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.

- Oversee internal and external reporting to management, Board of Directors, and lenders.

- Establish, evaluate and ensure compliance with financial controls and policies.

3. Work with the Co-founders to evaluate and optimize the organization's capital structure and manage the organization's
liquidity needs.

- Establish and/or maintain strategic banking and lender relationships and manage within a multinational, regulatory environment.

- Optimize the handling of international bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to protect and enhance cash position.

- Influences major investments, contracts, and other financial decisions to improve cash flows and reduce costs.

4. Lead external and internal audit process.

5. Understand funding processes - both equity and debt raise - and lead the financial processes important to the founders, board, shareholders, and investors

6. Closely work with the international teams to lead the financial processes and book keeping

Strategic Operational Leadership:

1. Participate as a strategic partner with the executive leadership team in the development of the corporation's plans and programs.

2. Provide strategic analysis, support, and leadership on financing activities.

3. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e. evaluation of capital forecasts, potential alliances, acquisitions, etc.

4. Lead the overall financial planning and controls team and work closely with the people ops and strategy team

5. Work with external partners, legal team, auditors, etc, on - as needed - strategic and operational projects related to the finance function.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

1. Strong natural leadership: The successful candidate will need to exhibit high standards of integrity and have a very strong core belief in - doing the right thing- and be resilient and persistent in ensuring that integrity is maintained at the highest level. She/he also needs to act to address and resolve conflicts early in an open and direct manner while communicating candidly with the co-founders, Board, superiors, peers and employees. This role requires an individual who can work effectively within teams and across businesses and functions.

2. Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a fast paced and high energy environment

3. Commercial, internet, and, optionally, international financial acumen: An experienced leader with a sense of urgency who brings along a proven track record in bringing strong commercial acumen with proven experience in a fast paced company.

- The company seeks an open-minded and innovative executive with strong communications and influencing skills. Internet and international experience is a strong good to have but not mandatory.

4. Job Requirements:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field

- A Master's degree is preferred

- CA required

Experience:

- A minimum of ten years of previous applicable experience

- Experience in strong commercial organizations with complex supply chains, control, legal emotions that require a deep understanding of processes, technological impact, and rigor.

- Preferred to have some exposure to the internet and startup industry but can make amends for the right candidate
