Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Exp: 15yrs+ from BFSI (Broking industry preferred)

Qualification: CFA / CA

Location: Mumbai

Chief Financial Officer Job Purpose: Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services; preparing growth plans; directing staff.

Chief Financial Officer Job Duties:

- Accomplishes finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.

- Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.

- Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

- Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; accumulating capital to fund expansion.

- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.

- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

- Maximizes return on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities; maintaining relationships with the investment community.

- Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.

- Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

- Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Corporate Strategy and Planning:

- Formulating the business plans for their respective businesses jointly with the Business Heads covering industry analysis, peer benchmarking, key strategic objectives, financial and resource plan, key initiatives for supporting strategic goals etc.

- Present the annual strategic plan for the Group to the Board of Directors at the beginning of each financial year and discuss the broad milestones with the Board.

- Present ideas for new business opportunities in line with the Group’s philosophy and long term strategic vision

Worked on strategic projects including:

- Framework for leveraging on Group synergies

- Implementation of Balanced Business Scorecard framework for Broking and Distribution business

- Customer engagement model for Wealth management business

Financial reporting and Business Intelligence:

- Should be able to empower team with strong supervisory oversight for Accounts, Taxation and Secretarial function for the entire Group

- Should be able to make a system for a comprehensive profitability reporting system to track business profitability and return on capital employed by SBU, distribution channel, product and geography.

- Periodic customer analytics to identify key trends such as scale up potential, customer profitability, mortality rate analysis, etc.

Investor relations:

- Creation of state of art touches points and periodic structured interactions with existing investors.

- Ensuring effective treasury management on daily basis including maintaining relationships with bankers.

- Leading a team to ensure recording and accounting

- Review of the monthly financials and analysis of significant variances

- Standard and ad-hoc reports analyzing the performance of the company and group

- Financial reporting to the management

- Liaising with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax auditors and with regulators for their periodical audits under various statues

- Implementation of various processes across organization

- Regular co-ordination and interaction with other departments of the organization for effective financial reporting.
