Candidates with extensive experience of managing Finance operations of orgs which operate on large volume of financial transactions will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

The purpose of the position is to provide entrepreneurial leadership to the organization such that it meets both its business goals and has an impact on the larger social sector.

This person is the custodian of the mission, philosophy, values, and culture of the organization. Responsible for the development of a financial, operational and risk management strategy, plus the metrics tied to those strategies. Responsible also for the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the organization's assets & business interest and report accurate financial and operational results to the Chief Executive Officer, board and investors.

The purpose of the role is to oversee all administrative affairs of the organization including procurement, vendor management, approving external business agreements; employee benefits and all other types of contracts.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Planning:

- Assist in formulating the organizations future financial and operational direction plus support tactical initiatives. To develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the orgnisations strategic direction. To develop financial and tax strategies, manage the capital requests and budgeting processes.

2. Operations:

- Participate in key decisions around resource planning as a member of the senior management team. Develop appropriate policies and standard operating procedures for all functions. Manage the organisations overall transactional processing systems, investor relations; financial operations of any subsidiary business of the organization; any third parties to which accounting, finance or legal functions may be outsourced. Manage human resource, employee benefit plans with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.

3. Financial Information:

- Oversee the issuance of financial information, personally review and approve all statutory functions like tax filing, etc.

- Report financial results to the CEO and board.

4. Risk Management:

- Understand and mitigate key elements of the organisation's financial and legal risk profile. To ensure the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor all open legal issues involving the organization itself or any legal issues affecting the ecosystem. To construct and monitor reliable control systems. To ensure record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies. To report risk issues to the audit committee of the board. To maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations. To maintain appropriate insurance coverage to mitigate the financial liabilities of the organization.

5. Funding:

- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts. Arrange for financing inappropriate time from committed investors, and invest funds in market mechanisms if required.

4. Third Parties: Participate in discussions and dialogue with the investment community and business partners, maintain banking relationships, and represent the organization with investors.

- The Chief Financial and Operations Officer will also have a collaborative working role with the Senior Management Team, the Board and the overall ecosystem.

Skills and Competencies :

- A seasoned leader with high energy and a vision, who demonstrates a strong and sustained commitment to the social sector.

- The candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with a master's degree in accounting or finance.

- Must have over 10 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation/ non-profit. An additional degree in law is highly desirable.
