Chief Financial Officer - Apparel & Retail (15-25 yrs)

Nspiron India Advisors have been retained by a progressive organisation in the retail, fashion, and apparel space, who have embarked on an ambitious growth trajectory and are looking at hiring an operating finance head on their leadership Team to achieve this path.

Our client is a pioneer in India's offline apparel space to further the objective of their in-house Foundation, a charitable trust devoted to education and healthcare initiatives for the under-privileged. The brand was founded in 2012 and has its own setup for designing which was incorporated in 2019 and spearheaded by a team of senior management professionals. The company has been founded by promoters with strong ethics and compassion. It has a present employee strength of over 200 professionals.

The company has expanded the points of sale from The Middle East to Europe and are planning a North American presence with over 75 stores in India alone, and more than 500 points of sale, offering clothing and accessories for men and women.

Job Description :

The think tank would like to identify a CFO/Finance Head to manage the growth expansion as an integral member of the Leadership Team to achieve the short- and long-term objectives.

The CEO will require strong support from competent leaders to help achieve the organisational goals to handle relevant operations and associated verticals at this early stage of growth.

Role: Chief Finance Officer

Reports to: CEO

Location: Mumbai

- Incumbent will set the direction to help the Leadership team make prudent financial decisions, greatly influencing cash flow, expenditures, and sustainability.

- As the core member in the leadership team, the CFO will be a strategic go-to-partner and key contributor in managing all aspects of the accounting and finance function.

- The individual will monitor the company's financial health and introduce drivers like data analysis and ratios to improve cash flow, grow revenues and profits.

- Provide detailed insights to help drive smart business decisions.

- Ability to present confidently in front of the Board or external stakeholders in different forums outlining financial aspects and recommendations for progress

- Use effective financial metrics to determine performance levels to meet the company's financial and business goals.

- Engage with internal customers in forecasting, collaborating, and mentoring the financial team.

- Ability to examine the entire financial operation in a retail set-up minutely to help manage all functional aspects seamlessly.

- Knowledge of commercial, business, and other domain drivers to optimise operations and efficiency

- Fund raising and meaningful connections with potential investors and financial institutions will be an added advantage

- Play an active part to be a substantial contributor to the company's profits, growth and engage with other Leadership team members in a focused manner.

- Provide timely, accurate and well-presented information to enable the Leadership Team to make right business decisions.

- Strong early-stage organisation building mindset and capabilities to scale and view the large picture will be desirable

- The person must be well versed in the retail sector, preferably with a detailed exposure to the fashion/apparel industry

The incumbent in a nutshell also does the following:

- Manage the company's financial planning, audit, cost, and accounting activities

- Plan and perform risk management duties with mitigation strategies

- Analyse and manage the organisation's liabilities and investments

- Plan, implement and manage investment strategies

- Manage fundraising plans and capital structure with relationships

- Determine finance KPIs and measure compliance

- Track and ensure cash flow is appropriate and sustainable

- Have a low employee churn rate on the team

- Innovate changes to the accounting process, forecasting and budgeting

- Manage and retain relationships with various partners and vendors

- Prepare current reports with different ratios and analytics

- Prepare and present forecasting reports

- Adhere to the law and company's policies
