The Industry.

- Advertising which accounts for about 1.5 trillion of the 85 Trillion world GDP is growing. A large part of the growth is coming from Digital advertising.

- Digital advertising which was almost 9000 crores last year is expected to grow 30% YoY and hit 19,000 crores by 2020.

The Goal : 

- The company looks to dominate its category by increasing its viewer base from the current 5 million to about 100 million in the next three years.

- They believe that out of the 100 million MAU's they should be able to get to 30 Million (Current 1.5 million) DAU's and out of them about 6 million would pay for their content.

- In addition they believe the content could also be monetised by advertising and they are estimating the 3 year revenue to be 3 billion.

- They believe the path to do that is to get people who read their stories at least 20-30 times a month, Increase the DAU/MAU rate to 50% and convert 30% of the DAU to paid subscribers.

This would happen by getting

- Relevant Content which is based on deep knowledge and can become an anchor for conversation

- Presenting the content in the right fashion.

- By observing customer preferences

- Gamification

- Schemes and offer

An ideal person would : 

- Be someone who has the experience of acquiring 10 Million plus users in a very short time in a creatively low budget

- Someone who has experience in charging a consumer a monthly fee for running an app

- Someone from a B2C environment with deep customer focus who is familiar in using various sources of data to develop cohorts that can be reached out to.

- Someone who has the right connects in the "digital economy" and has a ready list of go-to people when there is an issue/ opportunity.

Ideal prior experience would be in :

- Content start-ups

- OTT players

- Start-ups which have aps with 1 Crore plus downloads or where customer loyalty is high

Salary and Reporting :

Can be up-to 3 crore a year . Could also consider ESOPs

The role will report to the board and will have an independent hand.
