JOB SPECIFICATION

Position : Chief Digital Officer

Location : Chennai

Reporting to : Chairman & Managing Director

OBJECTIVE : To re-imagine organization's key business processes by using the latest in digital technologies to both increase employee productivity and enhance customer experience.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

- The Chief Digital Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing the organization's overall digital strategy and lead the IT strategy that underpins it.

- Tune in to the Community (members and guests) : Every audience now lives, plays and interacts online. A CDO's primary responsibility is to define how organization reaches and interacts with that community, and how they can engage in a two-way dialog.

- Map Digital Assets to Strategies : Must map the company's digital assets to strategic goals to ensure the right digital assets are prioritized for investments and development.

- Innovate Digital Processes : Design and digitize core business processes to drive growth & efficiency in consultation with business heads.

- Develop the Digital Brand : Organization's digital presence must in every way, further the brand voice and personality.

- Reach and empower Influencers : Who are, and where do influencers live? And, how can organiztion best reach them? Provide tools to empower influencers to drive the brand message and influence the potential market.

- Measure Digital Efforts : ROI, effectiveness, successes - develop key fact based methods to monitor the use and quality of the digital assets.

- Attract New Talent : Organization's next hires will increasingly be found online. Work with HR to develop a digital employer brand that will appeal to and attract the best and brightest talent.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS :

In addition to a formal education at the Masters Level and around 10-15 years of in-depth experience, a CDO must be in possession of the following skills:

- Marketing Savvy which is based on deep data analysis substantiated with creative insights

- Thinks Digital first while understanding what - engages- the New India

- Deep Technology Understanding : Understand technical developments in Machine Learning, AI, IoT, Analytics, Mobile and Big Data and drive its business case applicability within Organization.

- Business Savvy : The CDO owns a special relationship to digital assets and strategy and therefore must be in a unique position to identify new and better opportunities to further business goals.

- Protect Data Accuracy & Privacy : The CDO is the digital gatekeeper, tasked with protecting user and company information. As such, a strong understanding in data privacy and related fields is required.

- Forward-Thinking : The CDO is in charge of the larger digital picture: priorities and strategies for the digital future. A high level of understanding, related both to digital strategy and overarching business models, is necessary.

- Leadership : The CDO stands as leader for a company's entire digital culture, from the executive level down through the front-line.

- Build high trust relationship to drive execution : By its very nature the role requires working across departmental boundaries and it's therefore important to be able to navigate these work relationships with huge amounts of trust to ensure work gets done in time.
