Chartered Accountant - Merger & Acquisition/Tax

Job Description:

Transaction & Strategy Team - Ahmedabad

We are looking to expand our Transaction & Strategy team in Ahmedabad. This Service Line handles a wide variety of high-impact projects including mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, strategic divestments, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, going public, succession planning, and the formulation and implementation of strategies related to these transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Analysis & Due Diligence: Conduct thorough financial assessments, identify key risks, opportunities, and provide actionable insights during the due diligence process.

- Transaction Structuring: Work on transaction structuring, considering tax, regulatory perspectives, and legal frameworks.

- Drafting Agreements: Draft and review transaction-related agreements in line with legal and commercial requirements.

- Valuation: Perform business and asset valuations using appropriate methodologies.

- Business Strategy Formulation: Contribute to the formulation and implementation of business strategies in relation to mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and other corporate transactions.

- Research & Ideation: Assist in ideating strategies for clients corporate transformations and provide tailored solutions.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

- A working knowledge of the Income Tax Act, Companies Act, SEBI Guidelines, FEMA, Valuation Methods, IndAS, Trust Laws, and Commercial Laws.

- While expertise in all of the above is not expected, a strong understanding of multiple areas, with deeper knowledge in one or two subject areas, is preferred.

- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply financial and legal data to propose strategic recommendations.

- Strong communication skills to articulate complex transactions and structures clearly.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountants (CAs) / MBAs with 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar domain.

- Freshers with strong aptitude to learn and adapt to a diverse range of subjects in this field will also be considered.
