CG Power & Industrial Solutions - Head - Indirect Taxation

Job Purpose:

Handle engagements and ensure compliance related to Indirect Tax Laws, Appeals, Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory in the field of GST, and pre-GST indirect taxes.

Key Result Areas:

- Implement IDT laws (in particular GST and pre GST) and their practical application in a diverse business areas of CG

- Ensure flawless statutory compliances in a largely automated environment for multiple entities and registrations across the country at very high scale of manufacturing operations

- Optimize and validate from time-to-time various IDT proposals ensuring that they are both tax compliant as well as tax-efficient

- Handle Departmental audits, enquiries and similar interventions

- Maintain healthy external relations in order to present the industry's or company's views on any IDT issue before tax authorities

- Comprehensive litigation management: providing substantive assistant in drafting of legal documents like reply to SCNs, appeals etc.

- Digital initiatives for maximizing automation of processes and control systems including coordinating developments in SAP / ASP systems for achieving a fully compliant and automated IDT operations.

- Drafting/ finalizing replies to certain legal notices, written statements, appeals, etc. and represent before adjudicating authorities.

- Effective implementation and review of work programs. Updates the manager proactively on various work related issues.

- Guide and engage team members to handle IDT issues.

Desired Candidate's Profile:

- Appropriate Graduate degree - Law, CA, Business Management, Engineering.

- 15 plus years experience in dealing with Tax officials

- 5-10 years experience of managing a team

- Strong knowledge of indirect taxes (GST and pre GST laws) and their practical application in corporate entities with annual turnover of 1000 Crore plus.

- In-depth understanding of the manufacturing sector and their tax complexities, past and present issues

- Should have good interpretation, drafting and communication skills.

- Computer/automation skills - Standard computer skills, preferably supplemented with knowledge of SAP
