Position: Senior Analyst (Product Manager), IT Roadmap Builder, Tech Practice
Job Description:
The Product Manager's position on the IT Roadmap Builder Team is a unique opportunity to manage the conception, launch and growth of an exciting new features right from prototype phase.
IT Roadmap Builder is an agile development and the product manager is at the heart of the agile process. You will need to be business-oriented and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the product plan. The ideal candidate will form an effective bridge between the business and technical teams. Success requires understanding both business needs and technical possibilities, then finding the most effective use of resources to deliver maximum business value for minimum development effort.
The product manager controls the development schedule and is expected to be the single source of truth on which features will be delivered when. You- ll also be responsible for final acceptance, you need an eye for detail and a drive to deliver the best user experience possible. You will also be responsible for capturing, documenting, and communicating throughout all stages of the product family's lifecycle.
You will also work with the advisory team to understand and identify critical member requirements and pain-points. The person will be responsible to conduct demos, gather feedback and communicate the progress of these features with the advisory team.
The position requires close interaction with the engineering team. You will work closely with developers and QE resources to ensure releases meet - and exceed - customer expectations
Responsibilities:
1. Define Product Roadmap
Evolve a short-term and long-term vision & road map for the product based on requirements gathered across consumer needs, market research, industry trends, advisory feedback, management team thinking and business strategy. Constantly identify opportunities & new product features based on consumer feedback, and turn business requirements into product specifications.
2. Manage Product Development
Drive business and technology teams towards product related targets & milestones. Ensure consensus on requirements and timely product decisions. Oversee the day to day progress of the development team.
3. Create Feature Designs
Create detailed and unambiguous user story documents for product features. Work closely with developers and QA resources to ensure releases meet - and exceed - customer expectations. Work closely with design and UX team to ensure a top notch user experience.
4. Analyze Product Data
Crunch analytics & logs data regularly to identify consumer insights, find improvements for consumer engagement & conversion rates.
5. Create Insightful Reports
Work with the advisory and the sales team to understand what analysis and reports have maximum impact when it comes to providing real value to members.
6. Monitor Technology Landscape and Industry Trends
Maintain a good understanding of the technology landscape. Keep abreast of the major vendors and products. Understand the basics of product classification, nomenclature, support etc.
Candidate Attributes:
- Proven track record of defining product requirements and delivering successful products
- BS in Engineering and MBA (from top b-school) or equivalent experience
- Strong communication and inter-- personal skills; ability to work across teams with geographically remote team members
- Product management experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a startup kind of environment
- Experience of agile software development practices within a large team environment desirable
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Basic SQL knowledge is preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities
- Superior organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to perform under deadline pressure
- Persistence, resourcefulness, drive and ability to work proactively with a team or individually
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility to accommodate different situations and temperaments
