Category Manager - Retail/FMCG/F&B (3-7 yrs)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Category Management & New Product Development
Category Management
- Own end-to-end responsibility of Category Management across F&B space, including creating the vision for the category, planning and execution
- Identifying and develop Target Sector, Target Customer, Category Outline, Products & Brands, Differentiation Strategies and promoting Innovation to keep the category relevant and refreshed.
- Competition and alternate channels mapping: Sorting & identifying the fast moving product thus increasing the sales.
- Develop and Own Monthly Category Analysis Report.
- Overall responsibility is to optimize sales along with accountability of Pricing, Promotion, Margin & Inventory Control.
Merchandising
- Develop and implement placement and planogram strategies that improve category turnover.
- Plan and develop merchandising strategies
- Analyze sales figures & anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stock
- Collaborate with buyers for timely & quality supplies
- Produce layout plans for sales and merchandise planning
- Forecast profits/sales and plan budgets (OTB)
- Monitor stock movement to machines and sales
New Product Development
- Create Product Strategy in line with Business Plan and backed with strong Customer & Market insights and Need Gap Analysis to create Customer as well as Enterprise Value
- Create strong funnel for new product development and incremental improvements
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team including Sales & BD, Operations, Products & Solutions, Procurement, and Finance to develop and implement product strategies seamlessly. Branding (Static & Digital)
- Responsible for growing Branding Business Line for Vendiman.
- Responsible for Creating strong funnel of prospects and brand relationships for maximizing our branding space and branding revenue; both static and Digital.
- Develop & implement solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and prospects Manage Promotion
- Develop and implement promotional plans that bring excitement among consumers and incremental sales.
Customer Complaints
- Gain insights from Customer feedback to provide solutions and take quick corrective actions where needed.
Vendor Management
- Vendor Evaluation, Selection and Commercial Negotiations for Price, Margins, Credit Terms , Delivery lead time, Returns, Stock Management, Product Quality and Overall Service
- Establish collaborative retailer/supplier relationships to maximize income/terms/discounts & improve sales and profitability of category.
- Conduct business review with vendors to achieve mutual profitable goals.
What we are looking for in a candidate
- 5-7 years of quality experience in Category Management preferably in FMCG, F&B space.
- Have good exposure to managing end-to-end lifecycle of new product development.
- Consumer Centricity and Growth & Entrepreneurial Mindset
- Commercial Awareness and familiarity with Market Research, Competition and Analytics.
- Derive insights from Market as well as Data and use the same for Product Development, Improvements and Iterations
